this phone. what do you think

I would like to know what you all think of this phone.

So far for me I like it allot compared to my s2. The battery is way better for me.is smooth and have not froze or random rebooton me.

Same for me. Battery life is not anywhere near what they quote on the Boost website (17 hours, really?) but it's still lasts pretty long IMO. I"m spoiled to a vanilla CM9/10 ROM so I'll be glad when it can be rooted and a ROM installed. Other than HTC Sense taking a little getting used to, it's run smoothly for me. I like it better than the Samsung Galaxy S2 I had and returned.

I had a titanium s2 for two weeks, Then this phone came out. I couldn't return it to the store for a refund so I sold it for a loss and bought the 1V. I am so glad I did. THis phone is far superior. Faster, thinner, better. I think 17 hours of moderate use may not be too far fetched either. I've gotten 13 hours and still had some charge left. so... Now all we need is 4.2 ported and then this will be the perfect phone for me. I mean as it is now, I have never been this happy with a phone, there's always a fatal flaw for me. But not here......this is a keeper.

I like the phone a lot as well.

Orange is my Favorite Color and despite it being red, everyone thinks it's orange.

Battery while watching video is going to be about 30 mins per 10% used. This means a 5 hour battery life which is great for me. I can get about an hour using only music, so I believe 17 talk time hours is true when disabling 3/4G etc. I have been very happy I must say........ Except

I did find a Fatal flaw in my opinion even without a case on. When I have it on Speaker Phone the receiving caller experiences a strong echo. It was stronger when they were on a mobile phone rather than a home phone. The fact it is there at all is driving me crazy. This one has a noise canceling Mic but I never had this problem on the Samsung Transform Ultra that does not have a noise cancelling mic.

I am hoping boost can send me troubleshooting instructions. I think I need to exchange it since I don't see anyone else complaining about the issue.

One more thing I noticed is ... A buddy of mine has the gs3from sprint.and when he is not on lte he soul get 4g service andour phone don't only 3g wonder why when we are all supposed to be on the sprint network

Edit: he has AT&T

.....I am having a very hard time understanding this post. It sounds like you assumed your friend was on sprint with us and he gets 3g only. If the GS3 is Galaxy S III and he is on AT&T than we are talking about apples and bowling balls. No sprint CDMA phone will work on the non CDMA networks, I pretty much guarantee your friend uses a sim card.

Anyway I don't recommend this phone. The speakerphone echo I mentioned also happens with blue tooth headsets. HTC offered to repair the device, and I received it on 3-28-13. I am returning it to boost mobile. I will try another one and if I have the same problem I am going to flat out return it. Depending on their return policy I may just return it and wait until I can pick it up from BestBuy at $250 so if there is a problem I can return in 30 days. Boost Mobile has only a phone number for returns and they are 5AM PST to 5PM PST meaning I have to call before 2PM CST where I am at.

It's silly to recommend a phone that is great as a mini tablet but can't get 2 out of three basic phone Features right :/. I hope I change my tune if I get another because this phone was really great even if the screen resolution was not as good as the high ends. It looked darn good probably due to the lcd-2 stuff as my friend with a GSIII said he thought it was real good, and his screen is actually a higher resolution of course + larger.

From what I can tell your the only one having the echo issues. You have to remember though there is always one defect in the batch and not all electronics are created equal even if they are the same model number.

I really hope that's true, but there is another person complaining about the speaker phone being low I think. I asked for confirmation in that post. I did notice at full volume it was only half as loud as if I was watching a video or listening to radio/music. Feels like they purposely did that to avoid the echo issue. Probably works better for others than me with a possible defective phone.

My fiance already told me the Samsung Transform Ultra actually sounded better when I used it in handset mode compared to the HTC One Sv in handset mode. It was also obviously better for speaker phone, and STU does make the receivers voice go as loud as if you were listening to loud music, I usually turn it down a bit actually. No echo no matter how loud I placed it and tried to reproduce with a full case on lol.

I desperately removed the case, found it was better for the echo, and even removed the back plate, which seemed to help, as well as tried to rig something to force the audio toward the noise cancelling mic before I realized I can't run the stupid phone this way lol. Also even after all that still the same complaint and I still had to have the speaker no more than 4 feet away to make out what the receiver was saying.... which kind of sounds like I almost had it in handset mode anyway.

OK I am done ranting. Thanks for the update that I may be the only one with the issue. if i get the phone again it will probably be in two months and from best Buy so i can actually exchange or return the darn thing in a timely fashion vs whatever the heck is going to happen now. Who know I might be out 250+tax and than have to save up for another 6+ months for my phone fund like before :(.

Until than I stand by my recommendation that a cheap flip phone that actually works for the 3/3 features of calling is a better phone than this thing. This is a great small tablet though, but I can't say this is a phone really due to hand set quality calling being mediocre at best, and BT and Speaker Phone not working they way they were intended. This is like 0.5/3 features working.

To the person having the echo issues...
Are you by chance speaking to a person on another mobile phone when this is happening or is it happening on land lines as well? When I'm speaking to one person on a Virgin Mobile phone I often hear myself echo either on speaker or not but never on land lines and never with one person on an iPhone. So it would seem like the only problem I see is caused by the other mobile phone not mine.

Two different land lines ATT for one, other was a work phone so I don't know what they use, I think it's VOIP of some type, iphone on verizon, SIII T mobile, Samsung Transform Ultra on Boost, last one was a customer service rep who admitted they could hear it while troubleshooting the issue.... It's this phone since the callers on the other end were the ones having the echo issue. All people I have spoken to before with no issues using a Samsung Transform ultra, except my own work phone and the customer rep.

Your friends virgin mobile phone has the echo issue. I am guessing, if their phone is not defective, that they have case covering the noise canceling mic (easiest way to hear what everyone heard while trying to talk to me on speakerphone) or an HTC with the same design. They could also have you on speakerphone as how your phone is set does not matter when you hear your own echo, the sound of your voice is reaching their mic before it reaches the noise-canceling feature...... Look up HTC echo and find like 4-5 different models with the same complaint as me. The thunderbolt had one person return 4 times before they suggested he get a different phone..... from the place where he bought it.

My wife's Virgin Mobile phone doesn't have a case so that's not the issue. I know it's not my phone. Like I said I haven't had issues with any other mobiles or land lines. Don't seem to be any other reports of it here either. Sounds like you're unhappy with HTC so I would return it and get something different if you think you can't get the right HTC after 4 or 5 swaps like the stories you've read.

I don't get an echo, at least no one has said so and the one I've asked about sound quality said it was good... But I do get bad baterty time and very quiet speaker... I returned and swapped the phone for a new one and still same problem.... Battery on my phone lasts 6-9 hours with very little use... And the music can be set on high and you wouldn't be able to hear it at the next table in a fast food joint....

Other than that, great phone. But one factor not to your liking is enoughto tick ou off.
