Bought my One X + a little over a week ago, and have had the same issues. Randomly no signal with the SIM card icon with exclamation point next to it. After rebooting it fixes it, but still happens at least once a day. I'm guessing it's bad contacts between the gold contact points. I've read elsewhere you can shim by layering scotch tape on top of SIM card (opposite side of gold contacts) and that helps it have a better contact with contacts in the phone, however I haven't done this and don't plan on it because i'd rather not screw something up. If customer support cannot help, I'll try to wait it out until the company or someone else comes up with a better fix. still glad i jumped off the iphone bandwagon for this though! :)

My husband and I recently bought One X+ 's and we both have this problem several times per day. I have already had the SIM replaced and this has not corrected the issue.

I've got the issue too, but it only happens once a week or so (or at least that's all I notice it). I called my carrier's tech support and they pushed some kind of update to my SIM card, but it didn't fix it. I've also heard of the shimming fix, but no way I'm doing some kind of ghetto fix on a brand new phone and hoping for the best. This is their problem. I'm taking it in tomorrow and getting them to fix it or give me a new one. Not that it's a real hassle for me at this point, but might as well get it fixed sooner than later 'cause I'm sure it won't fix itself.

I have had this issue for a couple of weeks now...AT&T HOX+ for me. At first it seemed to be happening when I had my phone in my pocket while running/playing sports. But then it started happening when my phone was sitting idle on a table surface. Sometimes switching airplane mode on/off will bring back the sim/signal, while other times I need to restart/shut down the phone. I'll be taking it in when I get a chance.

Damn!

I appear to be having the same issue. Happens maybe once every two days. I was hoping it was just the SIM card and I was just going to grab a new one.

This changes everything. I hate taking back to htc for repair... the first thing they do is factory reset everything and it takes me days to get everything back the way I like it (+ you lose your progress in games etc that can no longer be backed up in jelly bean)

Bugger!

It's happened to me as well. The first time was a few weeks ago and rebooting seemed to fix it. Saturday, it happened three times. I pulled out the SIM card and reseated it. Been okay since then. I really hope I don't' have to send it off. My Mom got the HOX+ at the same time as me (two months ago) and hasn't had any problems so far {crosses fingers}.

Hi All,
I had a very similar problem. I didn't notice it was happening untill I activated the sim lock feature. I would keep coming back to my phone and finding the sim locked out so the phone must have been dropping connection with hte sim and then finding it again.
i tried doing a factory reset and then a new sim card but still had the same problem.
Then as a last resort I vigorously extracted and re-inserted the sim, not taking it off the tray, using the pin thingy about 10 or 20 times.
Fingers crossed since doing this I have had no problems which is about 3 weeks now.

It happened early on to my HTC One X+, about once every few days. Initially, I would restart my phone, which took a minute or two, so it became somewhat annoying.

As a result, I tried simply putting it into Airplane mode whenere it happened, as it was much quicker workaround. The Airplane mode work around was much more manageable and speedier, so I was satisfied. However, after having done this a handful of times, it has stopped occurring all together.

I haven't had the "No Sim card" issue now for about a month now since using Airplane mode workaround.

This a known issue with this phone as well as the X and XL. Just a bad engineering job by HTC on the hardware side, but other than that I love this phone!!

The easy fix (and this all over the web, you can google it) is to take some tape or in my case a couple of stickers and apply them to the back of the SIM card (opposite the contacts). This will give the SIM card a tighter fit inside the tray. Within a couple days of getting of my new One X+ I was getting multiple error messages about 3 times a day. Since I've put the extra sticker padding I haven't had one error since.

That's excellent advice!
Since I re-seated my card, it went a long time doing fine, but lately has started up again...only occasionally and very randomly.

I did this with my HTC One X after attempting to send it in. I cut a small piece of office tape (the see-thru stuff), and covered the whole sim card, except the circuit part of course. It actually worked! Now as for my HOX+, since posting here it has not repeated the issue. I am not sure what gives but obviously happy the phone is working.

I had the "no SIM card detected" issue at least 16 times today - I'm really not kidding. Usually it would happen once or twice in a week. But today was the jackpot. I walked into an AT&T store and had the issue 4 more times before I was seen. Got a brand new replacement after fussing a bit. Hopefully this one doesn't continue to have that issue. ugh.

Using the supplied tool (or a paper clip) to open the sim drawer.
I was at work when I finally tried the tape-fix and didn't have my tool.
All the paper clips I found were too big to fit in the hole.
What worked, though, was a standard-sized staple. I just straightened one of the "legs" and it fit perfectly.
