ringtones

How do i create a folder on the sd card?/?????????

Attach it to your computer.

Go to the Android Notifications and click on USB (I forget the exact wording)

Mount the USB Drive

Change whatever you want using the PC... Add directories, music, graphics etc.

Eject the drive (on PC) making it safe to disconnect.

Unmount on the Android (in the Notifications).

There is also software to do it on the Android directly... Look for file managers.

After playing around with my phone so much I find myself wondering, "Why can't my laptop and my Xbox be as cool as Android?"

It should be easy enough to port it to any computer... but the thing I like are the touch screen methods, so it would take a more expensive netbook than I have, if any are available with touch screens

Ir you can get the iPad and suffer through the differences. ;)

Alright gang, I can make my default ringtone an MP3, however, I cannot assign individual ringtones to my contacts. Does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong? I do know that they worked in 1.5, but they didn't work in 2.1 or Fresh 2.1.2. Thanks for reading.

You have to go to people, then click the contact that you want to assign the ringtone to. Scroll down, it should say Ringtone with a little drop down arrow. Click it and Pick it.

In my contacts, there is a place to choose a ringtone for each individual contact right on the bottom of the contact screen. (fresh 2.1.2)

make sure your folders go as follows...

sdcard/media/ringtones

all lowercase.

put all subfolders (ringtones, notifications, alarms, etc) in the media folder

Yep. That's where they are. No, really, they're in there. I don't know why they're not working. When I try to assign them, I chose the ringtone, it plays, and then I click on the save. Just not understanding why it doesn't work.

See, I know that. After I do that, and someone calls me, I still only get the default. I thought I might have had a bad sd card, but the new one has the same effect.

Once you assign it and you are done are you scrolling to the bottom of your people and making sure you hit SAVE
