If you get any sort of case the nipples are a non issue. If you're within range of wifi most of the day LTE is a non issue. If you buy a Nexus 4 today Android 5.0 is a non issue as you will be updated to it.

I'm perfectly content with my 16GB N4 I got back in November. Does that mean everyone will be? No.

Keep in mind the LTE is a rumor as it would no longer be a global phone and would have to cater to carriers here in the states. Be prepared for very delayed updates.

Probably not. I probably wouldn't use AT&T directly and I'm not sure if their mvnos allow their LTE use. I have t-mobile currently (30 dollar plan) and they don't have hspa+42 in my area so I don't imagine LTE is coming anytime soon. So if would be a waste of money to upgrade now. I would love for the current version to go back through the FCC for LTE certification and have Google re-enable it so that is a non issue.

Honestly, LTE is not a deal breaker for me so that wouldn't bother me if it's available or not. Storage, on the other hand, would get me to drop my 16GB N4 and splurge on a 32 GB N4. Most of my time on AT&T is spent outside of LTE areas and I need that extra storage for my music while I'm out in the boonies. It's hard to stream music consistently when you have more pine trees around than people and the closest WiFi is at my house!

I haven't read the article, but I'd be surprised if the N4 is updated: does Google have a history of updating existing models? Plus, they had some good reasons for not putting LTE in the original model: I'm not sure any of those reasons have gone away.

They have improved a lot, but you still have to worry about them just a bit. Now it becomes even more so on the nexus 4. The battery life is just ok, so adding LTE might make it go from OK to not so good. Just depends how Google and LG manage it.

Battery life with LTE is FANTASTIC. Not sure if T-Mobile's LTE is LTE release 10 but battery life has significantly improved over HSPA+ 42. Group LTE with Greenify and Franco's milestone 2 and you'll be good.

I tried out greenify, but it lead to me getting scolded because facebook didn't push the notifications to my status bar and I didn't bother checking facebook myself. Not that that's the fault of greenify, but I get good enough battery life that I don't really need it.

And Franco's M2 isn't out yet. It's M2 RC1, get it right

It's definitely milestone worthy I'll give you that. I'll run it for a couple days until he releases the next nightly. I'm a flashoholic

If you flash one of the older radios, then yes LTE is possible.

One of our guides pointed out in another thread that until we hear of an LTE variant going through FCC, there's little hope of an official LTE release any time soon. That said, it wouldn't be impossible that we see a 32GB version in May.

Yes, it does have LTE compatibility on the aws 1700/2100 frequency. That is the frequency that t-mobile is using for their LTE, but AT&T uses the 700 frequency for their LTE. So even if you flash the old radios, you won't get LTE on AT&T. There's a sticky in the ATR subforum on how to get the LTE working on t-mobile for those lucky enough to live in their first markets.

I would point out that I learned that AT&T have some markets that use the AWS band for LTE I dont know which ones though. Also I dont know how many Canadian Users are on this forum but it seems many of the canadian carriers use AWS for lte.

I would wait for the next announcement for one single reason: a possible price discount on first versions. I heard 8 gb version could go for $249.

Google does have a history of doing this. Remember the nexus s came out as a gsm phone only at first then a few months later the nexus s4g came out on sprint.
