how do they compare? I had the eris for 29 days and honestly started to hate it....texting was so hard due to the keyboard being slow and just not that easy to type with.

Plus the buttons drove me nuts with that little vibration thing they did....it was not a real pleasant phone to use...i am hoping for so much more from the Incredible.

Well, the user interface will be identical as they both have Sense UI. The Incredible may be a bit different due to Android 2.1, but I am not sure.

As for keyboard lag, that should be gone as this phone is WAY faster than the Eris. The keyboard will be the same, so if the touch screen keyboard is an issue you may want to consider the Droid as it has a slide out Qwerty.

There will be some changes and upgrades with sense with 2.1. Also, the Incredible has a bigger screen which makes typing easier than the eris. I don't think the eris is bad for typing though as long as you hold the phone sideways.

you DO know the incredible isn't out yet, right? plus, you could turn off the vibration on everything on the eris except the 4 touchscreen keys on the bottom of the phone.

Yes i know its not out, and i also know that several people have hands on with the Incredible...plus i assume this topic may live until the phone IS released....

And yes i know i can turn off all the keys except the 4 action keys...but those are the 4 that drove me nuts.

I have an Eris, and yes, it is slow. Trading up to the Incredible, so that should solve the speed problem.

For typing, I replaced thw stock keyboard with Swype. Swype is a pretty efficient to typing.

I had an Eris for exactly 30 days and 2 days before I returned it I downloaded a BETA version of Swype and I found it to be INCREDIBLE! One of my primary complaints of the Eris (next to the speed and OS version) was the size of the screen. Swype made typing much more enjoyable and I have secured my beta swype for the Incredible when I get it Thursday morning. :D

I beta test product for a couple of CE manufacturers and beta versions are almost always buggy. The beta version of Swype that I used was almost perfect as far as I could tell and it took about 30 minutes to be VERY efficient using it. IMO that is very quick.

FYI - I have no affiliation with Swype.
