Help Is dogcatcher worth it

I was wondering if dogcatcher is worth the 7.00 price tag. I tried listen from google, but it would not find some of the podcasts out there due to no rss enclosures in some of the paticular podcasts so listen can't play them.

I want to be able to stream, not download a podcast.
I would like it to remember where I left off even if I close it or go to another podcast.
I would like it to play video podcasts.

Can dogcatcher do the above?

Yes, I would also like to know if it warrants the $7 price tag ....mainly for watching video podcasts , news etc....I wish there was a trial period:(

@Crow11ad -- Yes, DoggCatcher is definitely "worth it" -- I paid the $7 bucks several months ago and have found DoggCatcher to be one of the most useful and feature-rich apps on the Android Market.

The developers are very active in adding new feature/function in frequent new releases; new releases have always smoothly installed keeping all of my feed preferences, current podcast playback status, etc. intact.

I would recommend that anyone who wants a podcatcher should definitely try DoggCatcher.

Thanks MB200 for your kind words.

I also wanted to add that the ability to remember play position for videos was recently added.

Offline viewing support for youtube videos (including remembering the play position) is coming soon.

There are a couple different auto-delete policies to choose from but the specific one you refer to doesn't exist yet in DC, although it's scheduled to appear in one of the next few releases.

You can get the behavior you are looking for by setting the auto-downloads and max items to the same value. It's not ideal, but it may suffice in the mean time.

Here's the issue for the feature in my bug tracker in case you want to check the status - 0000031: Episodes - Auto delete policy of "Delete Oldest" (ignoring InProgres/Done states) - Mantis

i like DogCatcher a lot. My only issue is that it does not seem to honor my settings to not delete podcasts. BeyondPod has a setting to keep the "last 5" podcasts for example.

Also, guys don't forget that you can get a full refund on any app within the first 24 hours of purchase.

Thanks, but I have My Auto Delete Policy Set to None and when a new feed is downloaded the old one is deleted. This seems wrong regardless of the auto-download and max settings.

crow11ad- You can buy it from the App Market and return it within 24 hours for a full refund if you don't like it. I did this and went back to using Google Listen. I have had much better luck w/ Listen refreshing since I have started using the remove download feature.

Regarding your question about podcasts that are not in RSS enclosures, I can't help you there. I didn't have DoggCatcher long enough to try.
