As said in the title, I'm using a ZTE Warp N860
Android version 2.3.5. I've been trying my best to root my phone. (I'm a noob at it obviously)
I used SuperOneClick and it stopped at #7.
I used OneClick and it wouldn't go through...

Can someone give me a step by step (In English) of how I can root my mobile? Please and thank you!

Anytime :D
Oh, one more root method thats like a huge hit here... n00b VIII.II rom here on this forum can be installed straight from stock. It will root and install a custom rom in one flash/install, so its waaay more easier :)

Hope this helps as well! You can stay on stock rom, and use the root method in the first link, or you can get the overclock kernel, custom rom, and custom recovery by flashing the appropriate zip file in the second link. The second is much easier and more preferred by others on this forum :)

I'm not familiar with ROMS, or anything. :( I'm completely oblivious to what any of this means, but I'm trying my best. lol

Its alright, everybodys gotta start somewhere :p
Also this is very difficult to explain, so please bear with me
A custom rom basically is like different versions of Android within the version. For example, on here we use mostly android 2.3.5 based custom roms. Right now you are probably on stock. Different roms, or "versions" of the platform, can come with different features. The biggest one between the stock rom that ships with the phone and the majority of custom roms we have here on our forum is the ability to overclock the phone, though that is really the kernel. Usually the maker of the rom will throw in a modified kernel to go with their rom. The ones here can go up to 1.8 GHz, as opposed to the stock 1 GHz when you first get your phone. Also, most of the bloatware or the apps that come preinstalled on the phone are removed from the rom to (1) free up space and (2) stop unwanted notifications about updates. Some even run as background processes even though they're totally uneccesary so they're a waste of battery life as well. Theres so much more but it can't be all put into this post, so its really a matter of exploring and finding for yourself. This Warp has tons of potential, as the developers here have proven already. Try out different roms around this forum, but remember to be careful not to install ones from other phones OR ELSE YOU WILL END UP WITH A VERY EXPENSIVE PAPERWEIGHT (which is very stylish and has a oil proof battery cover).
Have fun finding the right rom for you! :D

Thanks to the link you gave me I successfully rooted my phone, now I'm completely confused as to what the rooting did for my phone! lol. I can now screenshot. Will I still have to pay a monthly phone bill after rooting? Or is everything free now? (As I've been told) Also, do I add the roms to the SD card? And look for them using my phone & update them like I did with the rooting software?

Ah! I see lol!
One of my friends lied to be by saying that if I root my phone, that my phone becomes a wireless hot spot, and that even if my service is off I can still text + call. ( I WAS LIED TO !) :(

now that you are rooted you can use your phone as a wifi hotspot. but that and texting and other services require you having phone service a.k.a. having to pay your bill. the only exception would be using something like Google Talk over WiFi

So basically, I don't have to rely at at home wifi anymore? I can just download apps, and use them? (As I would normally) is that what you mean?

I don't know what rom you guys are using, but I don't have to pay my phone bill. On the Rom I am building (as a matter of fact), the phone now serves as an ATM linked to an offshore account from google itself (the money just comes out of the side of the phone- I know you can't see the slot, but it will surely show up after flashing- it's a new feature [atmosp]. It mows my lawn. Aaaaand man o man it makes one mean martini. If you set it on the floor it even rumbas the carpet clean.

It should be out in the next week or two. Anybody who beta tests will be given $2 million dollars.
