Galaxy S4 Cases and covers!

I've been looking at several cases, but I can't find the perfect one. I'm looking for a TPU case that has the most coverage (buttons covered & cutouts that align perfectly). Most cases have cutouts that are way too big. I also want the case to be slim, but thick enough to protect from 4' drops. I also want it to be a simple design. The Neo Hybrid is the best one I found, but paying $30 is crazy. I like the case I linked 2 posts above, but it has a weird design and has weird grips on the sides (Using a phone is not a sport where you need grip to catch balls or swing bats).

I can't find a case that I like at all. I see so many nice looking cases for iPhones and wonder why nobody makes them for Android, or at least a huge selling flagship like the s3 and now s4. Then I look at all the drop tests, and the one area that you basically don't need to worry about on a S4 is the back. Nothing breaks if the phone lands on its back, the worst that happens is you have to spend $2.50 for a sticker or a skin, or $5 for a new back plate if you care how scratched up the back of your phone is. But all of the protective cases seem to add 7-8 feet (maybe a slight exageration) of thickness to the phone, mostly in order to protect the back it seems.

Why can't somebody out there make an S4 case that combines the good looks of like an ElementCase or Edge Designs case for the iphone, and add some rubber or silicone to just the corners and front to give the phone some protection from getting dropped on its face or corners. It really seems like an easy case to make, would give pretty excellant drop protection, would look better than 99.9% of the protective cases out there currently, and wouldn't add so much bulk that it feels akward to carry in your pocket.

Here is my new Feather Shine case from Incipio. I went with the grey bushed metal color versus the black. It's just a bushed metal look, the case is made of plastic. It doesn't offer that much protection, but I am not a big fan of cases to begin with, I would rather my phones be naked. But I'm not entirely thrilled with how much the camera protrudes from the back shell so I went with a super thin case. Plus it gives a bit of protection to the back cover. So far I like the case, only thing is that the sleep/wake button and volume buttons are tough to press. They are on sale on Amazon right now.

I'm still having a very hard time finding a belt clip/case for my phone with the case. Every case I do find will only allow the phone to fit and not with the case on it as well. I really like the case I got as its clear and allows the battery cover and sides to show through it so it doesnt hide the phone. Its also very durable.
I've checked out Best Buy for belt cases, but no luck.

If anyone knows where I can get a vertical belt case/clip that will fit the phone with the case let me know.

Here are some on Amazon that say allow a GS4 with case to fit in the holster:
Amazon.com: Samsung Galaxy S4 Horizontal Leather Case with Magnetic closure with belt clip and belt loops (Plus Size will Fit w/ Otterbox Commuter on) + Cell Phone Antenna Booster and Anti Radiation Shield: Cell Phones & Accessories

I ended up buying the Iwotou case paired with a Steinheil Crystal Clear screen protector. Cost me around $16 total w/free shipping. I really liked the Neo Hybrid, but the plastic sides, ugly logos, & the high price dissuaded me. I also liked the Glas.tR slim, but paying $35 is ridiculous. It almost makes more sense to just pay for insurance which is like only $7/month vs. buying those two products for a whopping $65.

For those with the Spigen Neo Hybrid, does the camera stick out of the back of the case? What I am trying to determine is, will the camera get easily scratched if I put lay the phone on its back or drop it on its back?

Thanks

No, the camera does not stick out at all so the back is entirely flat.

I think this is a great case, my only gripe is that the power button is actually too sensitive now and I've accidentally pressed it several times.

If you get it, report back on the fit. I want something similar but am still searching for the right case before I choose a holster. I prefer a rotating clip, but would choose the horizontal holster over the vertical, due to the size of the GS4... unless the clip is high enough on the holster so the phone is not too high on my belt. I like to have the holster option as well as being able to stick the phone in my back pocket.

Sure, I'll report back on either one. I might order one today or tomorrow.

I actually like the power and volume buttons on the Neo Hybrid best of those cases I've tried.
- Seidio Active case buttons are hard to locate by feel (without looking) and require some serious pressure to use.
- Spigen SlimArmor power button gave me a terrible time. The case was so tight on those buttons that I accidentally rebooted the phone, twice! Once while putting the case on, another while just trying to wake up the screen.

I think I found one of the above a bit cheaper. Check this one out. I'm starting to lean towards a vertical case myself, if the GS4/case will fit it properly.

V078 Large Oversize Samsung Galaxy S4 Vertical Phone Case Pouch Rotating Clip | eBay

I'm glad I waited. lol Thanks. I just bought one of them. I like how it has a rotating belt clip. I just hope the magnet is strong enough otherwise I might had some more security to it. I did measure the phone with the case and there's actually more then enough room for it. I hope its not to much space where it flops around to much. I'll let you know about it when it arrives in a few days.
