MMS acting very strange. :(

Hey everyone, I have a question. I recently downloaded Handcent to try it out and one day out of nowhere, MMS messages won't download. I click the download button an retry and it fails after about a second lol. I uninstalled Handcent, dialed *228 to reprogram, and sometimes it works, but often it doesn't.

Sometimes, I'll even get an MMS from one person, but the message appears in a different thread, still not being able to Download. I searched for the problem and came across this being common for the Hero, but I'm not sure if its related to my Eris. Anyone with an Eris have experience with this? Or tips? I want to stay away from a Hard Reset, but will try it if I can sync my contacts.

1.5, 2.1, root? Whats installed as far as programs?

Did you try clearing the cache for handcent?

1.5 is installed, idk what "root" means lol (I'm a nub), and I've been using the Stock Messaging App for 4 months, used Handcent for a day or two, problem arrived, uninstalled Handcent, problem still there with original Messaging App.

I think your best bet would be to make sure all your contacts are in your gmail account, and then reset, although I know you dont want to.

Alternatively you could reinstall handcent, go to Applications, clear data, clear cache, and then uninstall again to see if that helps. Not sure there would even be data or cache there to be cleared, but it cant hurt to try.
