hey fellas

I was just looking through my phone and I noticed a lot of files and folders left after I uninstalled these apps. they're pretty small only 10 20 30 40 Kb but they add up after a while and my phone as very low storage.

is it safe to delete these or no ? for instance their files and folders left from gO Launcher EX which I uninstalled and a few other apps. my phone will allow me to delete them I'm just not sure if I should. and I'm not rooted

Hello bigioncoop. In the Application Manager, as you're approaching each app to delete, it's always a good policy to first hit the "clear cache" then the "clear data" buttons (if not greyed out), then "uninstall." That will most often clear those little files you're seeing.

Next go into the recovery menu and do a cache partition wipe for good measure. ;)

if I goto recovery and to a cache partition wipe that won't effect any other apps?

No, not at all. The cache partition is just for quicker access to often used data, as the system polls the area for bits and pieces of websites and weather graphics, etc. It's all placed there and moved off in a sort of queue as the space gets used up. Good to clear it for recovery of space, but it'll fill up regularly.

do I have to boot into recovery mode to do this or no? how do I go about doin this?

Access to the actual recovery menu with the "wipe cache partition" selection on most non-rooted Android devices is accomplished via a special button combination (press and hold volume and power and home, et.. some are different than others, obviously), and I've been trying to find that button combination for yours.

In the mean time, have a look here:

LG L38C Tutorials

..particularly in the "memory" section of the menu on the left of the screen.

[edit] I found this phrase on a device website: "volume down + home + power and then release power button when the backlight of the soft keys come on then wait."

Let us know if that brings you to a recovery menu. If it does, I'm nearly certain that the menu therein is navigated in the same way as other Android recovery areas: via the volume up and down keys, then use the power key to make the selection. Once the wipe is complete, the selection highlight should default to "reboot now" or some such wording. Press power to make that happen.
