What do you miss from your old phone?

The GS4 is a wonderful smartphone...but it's not perfect (no phone is perfect). There are a couple of features that I wish it had. Comparing it to my previous smartphone, an HTC Evo 4G (original...on Sprint), these are the things I miss:

1. Kickstand. This is such a wonderful feature. Sure you can buy cases with kickstands, but an integral kickstand is great for those who enjoy running around with nekid phones.

2. "Touch-sensitive" Home button. I don't like the GS4's Home button which requires a lot more force than a touch button. When the whole interface is "touch", getting used to the physical Home button is kind of a pain. I keep touching it and nothing happens and then I remember I actually have to "press" the button (Oh, how lazy I have become).

3. HTC widgets. There was a larger selection of stock widgets from HTC and they were more useful. Granted, this may improve and there are always downloadable widgets, but as far as stock widgets that come installed...HTC wins.

So, overall I am very happy with my new GS4 and think it's great step forward (except for a lot of the Samsung bloat...your opinion may vary) in smartphones. But, it's still not perfect (for me). Of course, everyone has different needs and wants in a phone.

So...what do you miss from your old phone? Or what feature do you wish it had?

I don't like how many icons there are on the top bar. Or, at least, how far it comes over.

I'm quite liking the home button after coming from a GNex. I gotten used to the back button changing sides pretty quickly. But it makes using someone else's phone (like my dad's RAZR M) difficult.

And I've found the downside to having a small bezel. When I try to hit the menu key with one hand operation, I almost always hit something on the screen. I'm a guy and I guess my hands are on the smaller side. I'm hoping that when I get my Neo Hybrid, it will make it a little easier with that extra grip on the back. But I see the point of the bezel on the bottom from the GNex now.

But that's about it. I'm loving all of the "gimmick" features. ;)

My old phone was a gs3, and before that was an iPhone. I don't miss anything really, other than maybe the more consistent "fluidness" of the iPhone. When I got the gs3, I missed the camera from the iPhone, the battery life from the iPhone and the screen from the iPhone. The gs4 took care of all that though so it's perfect for me. I'll probably actually have this phone the whole 2 year if something substantial doesn't come out next year. I love this phone.

My old phone was a Rezound on Verizon. I miss the coverage of Verizon! (Though that's not the phone's fault!) Seriously though, I miss HTC widgets. Particularly the friend stream. I haven't found anything that is comparable.

I miss the battery life of my Razr Maxx, it was truly awesome. And I too am getting used to the physical home button, but it's nice to be able to use it as an ON button when the phone is resting on a table. Other than that, the S4 is pretty sweet.

Plus, I use the power button as a hang up button while on phone calls. So if I'm on bluetooth in my car and the screen turns off, I can just press the home button if I need to use it while still on the phone. This was a big problem for me with my GNex until I put a ROM on it that let me use the volume keys to wake up the screen.

Yes, this is a very nice feature of the physical home button. I also installed a "Screen Off" widget on the home page so I can turn the screen on and off without ever having to touch the power button. Which is nice because the power button is hard to press using the Otter Defender case I am using. I guess there pluses and minuses to having a physical home button.

No kickstand is the only thing I can think of. I used to have an HTC Thunderbolt, and I used the kickstand far more than I initially thought I would. Other than those two things, this phone is great. The long battery life compared to my Thunderbolt makes me forget about the kickstand completely haha!
