I heard about the 3GB of RAM and was like, thank god my contract expires when this phone is set to launch haha! I have been looking forward to potentially getting my hands on a "phablet" for awhile now.
It'd be tough, but it would mostly come down to overall physical dimensions, for me. If future phones don't hit in the range of the current Note 2's physical dimensions, then I may have to go back down a level. I just love the Note's overall functionality though...very tough decision if I was forced into that situation.
What's funny is, owning the Note 8.0 wifi tablet, the Note 2 feels much more comfortable to hold after I've been working with the Note 8.0...LOL.
It seems Note 3 will have serious challenger T6 from HTC this Fall if rumor on it is true. Phones like DNA, LG G pro tried to complete but didn't quite make any dent on Note 2. I think Note 3 vs T6 will be the major battle in android device in the second half of year just like GS4 vs One in the first half.

I just got my son the HTC One, and was BLOWN away by the sound quality.... I Love my Note 2, but I may have to take a close look at the HTC T6, because of the BoomSound....

It's funny because, as much as I understand the concept of having front facing speakers, I am a little selfish/private when it comes to things like watching a video or listening to music on my phone. It's rare where I want to open up my phone to play music for people or show them a video. The once in a blue moon time that I do that, I've actually perfected the cuff technique, using my hand to amplify the sound out from the rear speaker.
I'm hoping that is a good sign for what Samsung will do with the Note 3! I don't even care if it's bigger than the T6 (e.g. One Max), but if they manage to make it smaller than the Note 2...I will likely buy off contract.
I like where HTC is going. They just need to bring back the integrated stylus (with WACOM technology), and add a microSD slot and I just might be back in the HTC family!...LOL (I'd even sacrifice not having a removable battery, as long as it's 3100mah minimum).
That news on smaller T6 dimension only mentions 140mm vs 150mm. I guess that's the height of phone but there is no mention of width. Considering it has nearly 6" screen, the width wouldn't be smaller than Note 2 I guess.
Screen and processing power of T6 will be competitive with Note 3. But I don't think it will have stylus pen, microSD, removable battery that Note 3 has. Basically it's like bigger, faster One.

That's the only way that I could realistically see the device height being shrunk. I posted in the comments, but 149.86mm diagonally, I'd say the overall height would have to be around 160.4 (not 140.4). That would be around 6.3+ inch height for the device overall.
Now, if they went with a 5.7 inch screen, I could easily see Samsung shrinking the overall physical dimensions (like they did for the S3). If the Note 3 is physically smaller, with a 5.7 inch screen, I'll likely be swooping the Note 3 up.

This is the rumor I believe the most. They can easily fit 5.7 on a Note 2 body and just shrink the bezels. Whatever the size may be, I just want that big screen.

I'm content sticking with my Note 2, but if Samsung manages to pull off the same thing they did with the S4 (fitting a bigger screen into smaller physical dimensions than the predecessor), then that device is perfect. One of the main reasons I was okay getting the Note 2 is because it was thinner and less wide than the original Note. The original Note just never felt quite right holding, whenever I tested it out. The Note 2 felt much better to hold (despite being taller), but was just on the verge of uncomfortable for me.
The only exception that I'd make, for getting a phone with bigger physical dimensions, is if Samsung finally releases a production model with the flexible screen that goes from a phone size and folds out to a tablet size screen w/o any break in the middle. All the early dual-screen iterations, with the ugly break in the middle of the 2 screens, just didn't make all that much sense to me.
