The camera app does not have any settings that i can select to choose the location of the storage. There are no settings in the device settings itself to choose default storage. It's automatically storing it to the internal storage!! Argh! Is it just android 4.0.4 that is the problem like the devs overlooked that option when developing 4.0.4?

Is there an app I can download which gives me that functionality? I've had this phone since like mid May and still haven't found a way around it. What's the point of providing external storage if there is no option to set it to be usable by the phone?

There are other free Camera Apps that have more settings. I use Camera FX and Camera MX. Both of which give you more options than the standard phone app.
I tried Camera MX and I didn't really like it. I don't recall why though. I didn't have it on my phone for long. I'll look into Camera FX. Thanks :)

Hopefully I can find a way to save to SD. I really wish I knew why the android developers missed that area of development. As far as I can tell I have a pretty vanilla install of 4.0.4. I don't have any kind of overlay as far as I can tell. *shrugs*

Ah, Camera FX (made by Pixi?) is incompatible with my phone. There is a paid camera app called Camera Zoom FX though. Is that what you meant?

Sorry, yeah I meant Camera ZOOM FX which is what I actually linked you to in my post if you had clicked on the Camera FX link you would have gone right to it. I just downloaded another free camera app after reading your post called Ucam. I have the paid version of Camera ZOOM FX though. I forgot I paid for it when it was on sale for $.99.

oh lol I didn't even notice the links. Sorry. *blushes* Yeah I'm trying not to pay for a camera app but if it comes down to it I might pay for one. I'll check out Ucam. :) Do you like it?

It seems to have a few more settings and it does allow you to move where it stores photos from the internal to the external SD card. It also has the fast shutter speed for taking multiple shots.

One of the best things about Camera ZOOM FX is that it actually has it's own built in image stabilization which is great with my shakey hands! :p

Ooh image stabilization sounds good. I have shaky hands, too and a lot of the time I get blurry photos because of it. But also the camera sucks on this phone so that definitely is the majority of the problem. LOL I'll keep searching around for camera apps to see if I find one I can stick with. Thanks for your help SteveCampsOut. :)

I downloaded a file manager app called File Manager that allows you to pick what your default save location is. When you open this app there is a series of four square dots on the right-hand side of the screen at the top, click on that and select Settings, scroll down to Custom Home Location and click on that. After the word storage followed by the slash type in extSdCard and when you use the camera the photos will automatically go to the sd card. You will then be able to toggle between them. After clicking the phone icon you will know which storage device you are using by looking at the top left of the screen, if it is the sd card there will be a little sd card-looking image there, if it is the internal storage there will be a camera image there. You can switch between the two by pressing the icon next to the zoom slide bar, the press the series of four square dots, when the next thing pulls up click where the arrow is in the storage section and it will change from MMC to Phone, to go back to the sd card just do the same thing and it will change from Phone to MMC. Both files will show in your gallery labeled camera. I hope this helps, and I hope you see it since it's been so long since this question was asked. I didn't have to load another camera app though.
