AT&T Update 5-15-13 & 5-30-13

Version: 1.25.502.12
Here is some information regarding the update two weeks ago for AT&T models as well as the most recent 1.25.502.12 update. .

From the site: (regarding update 2 weeks ago)

Small update that fixes a few things in regards to the Media Link HD, which AT&T gave out to those who preordered HTC's latest and greatest. Specifically, some folks hadn't been able to connect to HTC's high-def streamer because of a software glitch. That glitch has been fixed and is now ready to download. It's a small, 269KB update, takes just a minute or so to do, and basically makes your life seem a little brighter. And fixes the Media Link HD connection.

New update as of May 30th
Here are some basic notes regarding the new update today:

Update: . AT&T tells us this bigger update contains the new Media Link code

-Default browser setting fix
-MediaLink HD hotspot error fix

Sprint May 16th, 2013

Version: 1.29.651.10
Minor updates...
-Blinkfeed
-SprintZone
-Capacitive button sensitivity
-Max volume reduction
-Removed startup sound

Home and back buttons are more sensitive and I'm sure the phone is quicker/more responsive.

So I just noticed something...

If you long-hold "Home" and get to the Google Now screen, you used to be able to hit the menu and get a "Search with Camera" option where you could point your camera at an object and if it recognized it it would pull up the appropriate Google search.

I don't have that anymore after the update.

I noticed that my HTC One speaker got noticeably quieter once an update rolled out a few weeks ago and it must be due to that. Has anyone had this problem? Its not rooted on 4.1.2 and software version 1.27.531.8 on T-Mobile.

Who else has this problem? Does anyone know of a solution?

WELCOME TO ANDROID FORUMS Johnnyboi1337!

I have the updated T-MOBILE version & haven't experienced any problems w/the speakers.

Only thing I can think of would be to toggle BEATS on & off. If you have any other after-market/3rd party audio app,I'd disable it for troubleshooting purposes.

Should the problem persist,a Factory Reset more often than not will take care of the inexplicable,Especially after a software/firmware update.

Back-up any media/data/settings that you want to quickly restore before performing a Factory Reset, whether it be the cloud,or,your PC. Should you need info on this subject,HTC's website has you covered.

Please keep us posted on your outcome.

Yes, not only did they reduce the volume, they also upped the compression ratio making anything played out of the external speakers almost painful to listen to. Now that you can get s-off I plan to root so I can get the old set up back, and so I can get android 4.2.2. I'll try to remember to pm you with the results if you would like.

Thanks for the help. So far I've tried a few things. Toggling beats does not but change the equalizer. I've downloaded apps that boost volume that worked on my precious phones which has no effect on this phone. What I'm going to do is call HTC and get a response from them because I bought this phone for the loud speakers and they do this shit to me? Its not right.

Yes! I would love a pm, I'm trying to fix this issue and I'll post a solution as soon as I find one as well

Sprint just rolled out an update:4.06.651.9

No details on the upload except "enhancements"

Downloaded this update, I was hoping for a fix to the message :LTE: ESM-65535 Unable to establish a wireless data connection that I have been receiving since the Kitkat install but no luck. Havnt really noticed any differences at all.

That message is more to do with the towers than the phone. Since they just completed the 4G rollout here in Grove City, Ohio I have not seen that message once.

I think before 4.4.2 (and the Sprint tweaks) that message was hidden from users. Now I get the triangle of data death...but no LTE message.

Good to know. Thank you. I get the triangle of death data as well. Hopefully they will have 4G in my area soon.

The Sense 6 update is available on Verizon now. I just went to settings to update and it's pushing to my phone now. They aren't kidding when they say it will take 33 minutes to download - I'm currently around 20 minutes in, and it's about halfway (and I'm on a really awesome wireless network at work).

Edit: download stopped, I don't know if it ever completed, because it vanished from my notification drawer. I rebooted, but it's still the old software, so... maybe it's not fully ready-for-prime-time yet.

Second edit: it's done. I'm not sure how I feel about the Blinkfeed changes - and I can't get rid of the dock when I'm in Blinkfeed, although since it's smooth scrolling instead of page by page, that's probably not a big deal.

Not sure how I feel about the theme colors - I wish there was more customization with that. There may be, I just don't know where yet. Has to reset the font on MissedIt (which I use on my lockscreen). Those are the only middling things I've discovered so far.

Oh, I miss the clock at the top of the apps drawer. That's gone now too.

Verizon Sense update.

It appears that all ringtones and notification sounds are completely new. Didn't know my phone was ringing, thought it was someone else's. Also caused issues with my alarm app. It didn't go off because it couldn't find the sound it was supposed to use.

Got the latest update including Sense 6.0 last night and having read your post the first thing I checked were the notification sounds/ring tone and had to reset them in all my email accounts, alarm, calendar etc and in most cases choose new ones - slightly frustrating but only a few minutes to do it so not a major issue, apart from HTC not including this in the changelog. Had I not read your post I may well have missed calls/emails.

Still going through the changes but so far I'm happy with them.

:)

I had an issue after the Sense6 Sprint update, where Google+ wouldn't back up my photos. Finally figured out that the update had set my home wifi as a mobile hotspot for some reason, and wouldn't let some apps upload data over a mobile hotspot. Including Google+.

Oh and I am constantly getting reminders for voicemails, really old ones. Listening to them does not get rid of the reminders, had to go delete all the voicemail.

I guess I am staying with Sense 5.5
Tried three times today and the phone downloads the 6.0 fine (takes about 25 min) but fails every time during the install process. Red triangle of death about 30 seconds in.
Called HTC and they had me do a reset with google and some kind of cache procedure. Now they want me to wipe the phone and start from scratch. They say if that doesn't work then go for warranty.
OK, no and no.
Don't want the update that bad.
Already wasted half a day.

-----------------------------------

*Update*
After wasting half a day with Verizon tier 2 tech support and a couple hours with HTC tech support I went to the Verizon store and had to get a new phone. The One just kept trying to update and without asking permission. I did the cloud and the factory reset, no luck.
So, I stubbornly refused to take a referb phone and was able to get into a new M8 only paying the sales tax ($36). Happy with the M8, many hours wasted and lots of photos I thought were on the cloud were not, plus all my notes in the note app gone.\

Verizon tier 2 tech support said they have seen this issue a few times, the manager at the Verizon corporate store said she had never seen it.

I just updates my AT&T htc one with an update that was from maybe a month ago. I just never got around to doing it. Well I regret it. So it updated my phone and gave me a browser bar option in the settings (just to let you know which update it was).

But now, all of my stock apps have the little green anodized and when I click them it says this app is not installed. But it's basic important apps like messaging. The phone app, contacts, the camera. All of the other apps that I actually got from the store are working fine. It's rendered my phone useless basically.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix them? I'm. Really worried because I need my phone a lot for important phone calls.

Oh and I'm using the nova launcher if that matters

as with any major update, a factory reset is highly recommend to untangle any issues that may arise.

recommend to uninstall the launcher, or may sure its compatible with the current firmware os.

if you are rooted this takes on a different discussion.

the latest (as of this writing) android update changes the way apps can access folders on SD card. this is for security reasons and has been discussed all over the internet. this could also be the reason some of your apps are not working.

if you have moved any apps to SD card that are not currently working, move them back to internal storage, or just move one or two back and test.

you may have to uninstall apps and re-install.
