I dunno, but I'm holding out for this one!

I've been waiting on the BB Q10 to release for months - Now that it's here, I'm not so sure it's the route I want to go. It's nice, and as a longtime BB user, it's going to be different going with Android. BB10 is plagued with problems and it doesn't seem that the company is taking them seriously.

I'm thoroughly impressed with the SGS4 and the Active version is just....well....this sh*$. I'm having an awfully hard time not pulling the trigger on the SGS4. I could have one tomorrow! Anyways, I think the Active will be worth the wait.

Geez, I'm sick and tired of waiting on a phone, lol. I just want one now!

I am sad abouty the low specs though. I'd be all about this phone if they were able to bring the specs up a little closer to the "real" S4.
I'm not trollin'
I'm serious. This does still look like the most bad-arse tough phone out there, and I want a phone that can take the beating this one can.

What specs are different aside from the screen and camera?

Good question. I don't know of any other, yet. (EDIT: Size. It is bigger and heavier)
When I first wrote that last post, I could swear I had seen a listing for a lower end cpu, and smaller screen, but I now see many listings where the only differences really are the screen and the camera.
But the camera is enough for me. I'll make a more final decision when I see examples of the camera shots and what kind of dev action it gets.

It doesn't look like this phone is coming to Verizon as att has deemed it as “exclusive"...

That's a marketing term and may or may not have any bearing in reality. Although it may be true at the time of the AT&T announcement, it doesn't it will be exclusive forever.

I'm also on Verizon and hoping it is released there.

I hope you are right about this...makes sense but how dern long is Verizon gonna take to launch it! I'm sick of them dragging around...they have only released 1 phone (gs4) that is worth buying...this year!

Now that the specs are public, does it still seem "lesser"?

I havent delved deep, but it looks pretty much like the same phone sans bloatware, camera, and LCD screen.

My problem is there are no cases for it! I want to go buy it tomorrow, but would probably drop it in a puddle before making it home. Good thing it's water proof!

Looks pretty close to the same, unfortunately the camera will likely be a deal breaker for me. I'll wait to see what it can do and if it comes to Verizon...

Part of the reason I want this phone, is it shouldn't need a case :p

Is the camera that much worse? I mean, a 13mp camera is only "really" necessary if you're printing poster sized prints. Even then 8mp should suffice.

I'm really struggling with the decision. I can pick up a new S4 for 168.00 no tax versus the S4 active 199.00 with tax - Basically 215.00 vs. 168.00 for a "lesser" but more rugged device.

There are a few funtions missing from the S4 Active, but I can't find enough to really make me not want it. It comes with 11.4gb of usable space vs. the S4 with only 8.something.gb of usable space. I imagine a little of the bloatware is gone?

To score or not-to-score.... That's the question lol :)

I'm seriously considering getting this phone tomorrow. I'll tell you though, an otterbox defender would be a necessary ailment for me... I'm pro at dropping expensive devices.

Whaddya think about it?

I don't buy a phone based on the camera. Yes it's a nice feature to have but the camera is secondary to everything else. If I want good pictures, I bring a real camera with me wherever I go.

I went into a Verizon store to update my work discount and asked on when this phone is coming out. The guy was totally clueless. He never heard of the Active version but directed me to the normal S4's which they had tons in stock. I told him AT&T was about to get my business if Verizon doesn't bring this phone out in time for my next upgrade (which happens to be the end of July).

Just checked out the zoom and mini versions. Both have weaker CPU's and worse screens. If I wanted that I'd keep my Droid Razr. The zoom has that camera attachment but it's only 10x optical zoom. My actual camera is better. And does that attachment come off? I mean how will it fit in a case if it doesn't?

Yeah I'll stick with trying to get Verizon to get the Active version for now.
