How much GB left

I am on Verizon with the S4 16GB phone, and I am down to 2GB left.
I am so pissed off and upset that I have this great phone and don't have the storage I need. I mean I have the 32SD card but you cannot move apps to it so you can free up your device storage.
Is anybody else this low on storage and if so how do you feel about it?

THIS SUCKS..

Well, I agree that 16GB isn't much when half of the space is already taken up. So these are really 8GB phones. But, we should all have known that going in because it has been well documented and reviewed.

So, you can wait for the 32GB version to come out.

Or, wait for the update which is supposed to bring back apps 2 SD.

Or, go on an app diet.

Complaining does help ease the pain but it never cures the problem (believe me...I know...I do a lot of complaining myself).

I'm not an app hound so I don't have your problem. I use a 64GB card because I have a lot of stuff to store (music, photos, videos, documents, manuals, etc).

I guess I dont really have that many apps but I have the 9 gig (thats the number it shows on total storage) and I still have like 6.5 gig free. I got the 8gig card - my 32 gig one is basically dead - still looking to see if the manufacturer will replace because of the lifetime warranty.

But here is something to look forward - the new update that was released for the international version you will be able to move apps to your SD once again!!!

Yes I heard that, I cannot wait till they come out with it in the US.
But guess my next question would be, if you move your apps to the SD card will this make another problem? Exp: Apps not running in back ground due to being on SD card. Apps open slower due to SD card etc etc.

Thank you both

With a class 10 - there should really be no slow crap. As far as apps not working - i know that on my s2 the phone did some weird crap where it would remount it every so often so I would lose playlists even without turning my phone off. I have not noticed anything like this yet on the GS4 hopefully that bug was fixed and running apps from sd will not be a pain.

Anything that has a widget though is still going to be a problem - but again speculation!!

Apps may be a little slower running off a card but usually most cards are class 10 which are pretty zippy. I can't speak from GS4 experience of running apps from a card but on my EVO, most of my apps were on the card and they opened and ran fast enough. I couldn't tell a difference between internal and card apps. Plus they were able to run in the background. Don't know about the GS4 but I guess we'll know soon enough.

I'm just wondering what takes so much space for people! I it is games, how do you guys play them? I think I am one of the people that had some good games growing up and none of those can be played on a phone! Not trying to be judgemental it's just playing modern warfare on my phone really does not work. I have 3 games for when I am getting an oil change and am looking to waste some time away from home! If home however I sit on my 3 screen pc and I game away at some of the most graphically detailed games ever. The thought of me picking up my phone and gaming on my phone at that time is rather abstract!

I don't have any games on my phone. Just apps that I use, banks, alarm, check book, etc.

If there are no games then it's unlikely that it's just apps taking up your storage space, as the typical app is very small.

Have you copied any music, video or other files onto your phone? downloaded anything? torrent software or other p2p app?

Are you saving video and images to your sdcard or your internal storage?

Also check the application manager and look at the size for each app, it clearly shows how much space they take up so anything big should stand out.

ok here is what everything is reading, please tell me if this sounds right.
Total Space 16.GB (And after everything Samsung put on you should have around 9.GB)
Applications 1.11GB
Pictures, Videos 7.71MB
Audio 75.21MB
Downloads 8.00KB
Miscellaneous Files 6.41GB (What the heck is all this)
So does this sound right.

I can only speak for myself. I have one device for everything: music, GPS, e-reader, word processing, games, etc. When I upgraded from my Atrix 4G, 16 GB w/10 GB personal storage and 2 GB for apps., I was transferring everything to my SGS4 and only had 400 MB of space left. (Totally not cool, even though I have a 32 GB SD card.) Since I only had my phone for 2 days, I took it back and exchanged it for the 32 GB version, which only had 24 GB personal storage. I have installed all, 230+ apps and some new high-end games on my phone and still have 10GB left.

Most people have multiple devices for the stuff I mentioned above and might not need as much space as myself. So it really depends on the individual user.

I suggest using file manager and going through each folder and checking details to find the offending files. :D

Hopefully once you find the file/s you will know based on the folder name what app is responsible.

Looks right to me, here is my screen shot. So I have similar numbers as you but the last line shows my "Available space" as 5.68 GB. I think that Misc Files is what takes it from 16 GB to 9 GB then the rest is your apps/music/phots/etc...are you sure you only have 2 GB left because from the numbers you posted, you should be around 6 GB

That is fine. The Misc files is mostly system stuff.

I find it odd that you have so little space. I have more of everything (more apps, etc) and have 7.15 gb free.
