Root considering rooting...help please

I just rooted yesterday. Was one of the easiest things I've done. There is a lot of information out there. So many guides, ROM's and themes to choose from it can make your head spin. My advice is to read through these threads

There are some videos in these threads which I found very helpful. They go through it very thoroughly and it's what I used just yeterday.

Did you overclock also? If so, to what

Here is my thread about what ROM I installed. I basically used RSD Lite to flash the 2.1 SPRecovery file. This allowed me to load a custom ROM. I went with a Cyanogen based ROM, Jrummy's Remix v0.6. There are different versions of this particular ROM, but I chose the stock themed one because I like the stock look. It has bekit's overclock kernels up to 1.2ghz, but I'm running nice and smooth at 1ghz. It also has wifi tether and helix launcher built into it as well. It's up to you what ROM you choose, but the options are nearly limitless after you flash SPRecovery. On a scale of 1 to 5 I give it a 1 because everything was laid out for me already and it was pretty easy.
