Seen any good ROM's lately?

I Rooted my phone using the unlockr one touch method and it worked out just fine. Now I've been trying the HERO ROMs posted on the same site. But they either don't work or are sluggish. Ok, I know most cooked ROMs are going to have bugs and since the HERO was not made for the MyTouch hardware, it will be sluggish also. But the real issues is that the ROM's there are old and the devepoler is not supporting them any longer. So my question to you is, who currently has a working ROM for download and are also currently supporting it?

Thank You

Have you given a try to SuperD and Cyanogen roms? Their dev are constantly updating roms and these roms are very stable and super fast. Infact a new version of SuperD is supposed to come out tonight.

Thanks for the heads up. My battery life actually seems better than pre root.. Before my battery would be at 50% after 3 hours of use. Seems abnormal are you using superd?

Wow..that is too much for an unrooted device.

Yes I am using SuperD 1.10.2.

Also use juice defender. You can find it in the market. It keeps your internet off for 14 out of 15 minutes when the phone is on standby mode.

Hey, Tex, you can also check out this site - AndroidSpin Since the G1 and the Mytouch are basically the same phone, you can use the roms "designed for the G1" on a Mytouch. Really its just that these developers got G1s right when they came out and so they are made on G1s, but they work on Mytouchs. So check them out, the list is ordered chronologically, so the roms on pages 1-4 about are the ones kept up to date regularly.

The problem we are seeing is that those original developers had G1s close to two years ago and now they are upgrading to Nexus Ones and to the rest of the technically superior phones that will be coming out soon, so they aren't making roms for the old phones anymore. But oh well, thats life, luckily some of the best rom makers are still in it for either original phones still or for both.

Anyway, best of luck to you! And stay away from those Hero roms, they are just death to G1s and Mytouchs because Hero's have so much for ram than us. Some 2.1 roms are pretty quick, but I'd stick with just the donut 1.6 roms.

Cool, thanks for the info. I'll check them out tonight!

I know I'm probably going to get chastised for this, but I have been searching the androspin list trying to find a rom that has a version of car home. Does anyone know if there is even a hacked version around that will work on a MT3G?

I had it at one time, so it does work on the MT3G, but I don't remember if it came with an earlier version of SuperD or with a theme I flashed.

If you Google "download Android car home", you'll see Rapidshare link.
