Now that you can download google calendar it is great to have the option to use it. However, when you receive an ICS file from Outlook to Android it will only process using the stock calendar and doesn't give the option to use the Google Calendar.

Does anyone know if a way to fix this? I've tried looking for file associations but it pops up the box when I click to open the invite.ics file and an option doesn't exist for Stock google calendar :(.

Any ideas? I am rooted, but I would like a non-root solution, if possible.

Hmm. Now that you mention it, I've noticed a slight lack of interaction with Google Now. (Which is to say, I don't get the cheerful notifications telling me I have to leave in 15 minutes to make an appointment.)

Although, thinking about WHY, exactly, which calendar I have on my phone should make a difference to that makes my brain hurt. (Because, I mean, Google Now certainly syncs with my Google calendar even though it's not on the phone, so Google Now should send the notifications accordingly, no?)

(I'm torn. I want my Google Now notifications, but I rather prefer the Samsung interface. Guess I'll have two calendar apps.)

Make sure your entering events into your Google calendar and not the Samsung calendar.

You can still do it from the Samsung interface, but make sure its being entered as a Google event

I am. Definitely. (I know this because I add, like, 99% of my events into the google calendar via my PC.) In any event, now that you've mentioned it, it appears that my Samsung calendar defaults to adding things to my google calendar.

(I honestly had no idea this was a Samsung app. Probably because it doesn't say "S-calendar" or something equally stupid.)

Any progression on this question? No one has actually answered it.

Cheers!
