Help Nexus 7 Screen Crack Ghost Touch Help?

Hey there. This is my first post on this forum and I'm here to ask for guidance on an issue that caused me to spend 20 minutes merely making my account. I have a crack on my screen that covers the top right corner of my screen. That part of the screen doesn't work, doesn't receive my touches at all. My problem is that on random spontaneous places in the area of the crack, there are ghost touches. It will drag and touch randomly in that corner. While the screen is awake it never stops making it downright impossible to do anything. It's so hard writing this right now. So my question is, and I have researched this a whole lot so hopefully you can help me... Is there an application, tweak, setting that will allow me to disable a custom part of the screen, that will change when me screen orientation changes? Root is not a problem. Any help is deeply appreciated.

Thanks Unforgiven :D

Look on CraigsList or fleeBay and find a replacement tablet, then sell your old one for parts after moving any files from the device.

Yes I have considered that. Was rather hoping for some software to solve it. I don't care much for the unresponsiveness but the ghost touches pissed me off.. Well thanks for your help I guess ill check out fleebay that's one I haven't checked.

Unfortunately I'm not aware of any software that allows you to partition the screen in any way. That could be quite tricky as android simply doesn't work like that.
First you need to find out if your digitiser is functioning properly. If "Ghost touch" only happens when there is pressure on the screen, then your probably alright. But if this happens when there is no discernable pressure(or static charge) then this could be a sign you have damaged your digitiser. You will obviously need to replace your screen. And these can be fairly cheap on Ebay, and they are really easy to fit (check out YouTube for step by step video tutorials). As for the digitiser, if you buy a bundle off Ebay together with screen you shouldn't pay to much(about 60 dollars for both). And if you do not need a replacement, my advice is to stop using your device until you replace the screen, these things only get worse and you WILL damage your device further. I know this isn't the answer you wanted, but I hope I have been some help in some way.

Is it worth it to replace a screen on a broken unit? I have one with a cracked screen er as well. I couldn't find cheaper than $60 for the combo lcd and digitizer.
