The Today Show reported today on the Gizmodo article that discussed the lost/leaked iPhone at a bar and they all thought that someone at Apple was going to get fired.

I felt obligated to tell them that they needed to do a little homework and that nobody was getting fired (maybe promoted if they came up with the idea) and that the whole lost phone/leak was most likely planned out of Stevie's fear of the Incredible release and pre-order that started hours before Gizmodo launched yesterdays article. The real story should be the giant 180 made across the web by iFanboys when they found out that this was real. All before they were bashing the thing saying it couldn't possibly be from Apple. As soon as they found out that it was it immediately turned into a work of art. BGR even has one article saying thank goodness its not the new iPhone and a few articles later they are reviewing and praising it.

Personally I always thought it had a nice look. Finally more masculine and it fits into their notebook product line.

I didn't think it looked so bad either. I think the screen should be a little larger and I'm not sure how comfortable those square edges would be. That would be my concern - that and I don't really care for the OS. I like HTC Sense much better.

OT: Hell no... Meredith Viera has this weird hot school teacher look going on sometimes... She enjoys wearing the F-me boots regularly... almost cougarish if you will.

Back on topic... this was great 'guerrilla marketing' by Apple.

OK... Just Matt then :)

BTW, what does this thread have to do with Android?

iPhone and (soon) the wPhone are both evil, in that they require special software interfaces to transfer files. HATE IT!!  ;)

please, steve could care less about the incredible. New android phones come out every month. I can bet that when the iphone hits verizon it will outsell any android phone on verizon. I do like android but having used both, the iphone is a much better user experience.

That's funny motion. This leaked prototype was confirmed legit 2 hours after the HTC Incredible went up for pre-order (you may want to read up on a law suit against HTC by Apple). If you think Steve could care less about the Incredible you are naive. Any CEO that "could care less" about competition that is taking away it's customers isn't going to be around for long.

Android has been luring customers from iPhone and this phone is the best thing to date imo on vzw. I also have used used the iPhone and I had an HTC Eris which I returned recently to get Incredible and I would take the Eris over an iPhone because IMO the Sense UI on HTC is a much better user experience. Note the IMO part (which you may want to add to your statement as it sounds like you may be confused thinking it's a fact).

Well, the highly anticipated HTC Incredible with ANDROID went on sale for pre-order Monday morning at 9 am? This prototype was confirmed to be the next iPhone at 10:47am monday morning and the whole Apple employee lost it in a bar story is very suspect imo. With some light research it is my opinion that Apple fabricated this to keep interest with any of it's customers that were thinking of jumping ship to purchase the before mentioned HTC Incredible with ANDROID. Got it?

In hindsight, it was not like VzW "lost" airtime to advertise the HTC DI ; it just came out looking classy. They knew that the Incredible already had a huge following and knew about the market that they were initially catering to and did not need any extra advertising money on it, at least at this stage. Apple anticipated VzW to make noise about the DI because of the specs but miscalculated. Most people agree with this especially because of the way Jobs has targeted HTC with the recent lawsuit. Apple's lawsuit is frivolous and everyone in the circuit knows how desperate they are getting.

I know some people are restive about the lack of hoopla over this phone, unlike what VzW arranged for Moto Droid, but the whole process looks so classy at the moment and will be a WIN once it is released on the 29th, when there will be more coverage in the mainstream media.

That employee will be let go for sure after some non-disclosure/non-compete arrangement IMO ;)

I will say this: What are the statistical odds that Gizmodo, the biggest "all gadget" suck-ups to Apple on the internet, gets the "lost" device. Seems like a back-end story to dilute the obvious fakeness of the whole situation.

To top it off, Gizmodo posts an article to "explain" everything.

BS detector is a Spinal Tap "11" on a 10 scale. ;)
