I need your aboot img

On linux, run these commands 1 by 1 in terminal with your phone plugged to your PC. Make sure to have USB debugging enabled on phone.

[HIGH]adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/aboot of=/sdcard/aboot-lucid.img[/HIGH]You'll get a small file named aboot-lucid.img in your internal sd. I'll need that file.

Sorry, I don't use windows so you're on your own with that.

I tried to get it so that we could get some development done on this phone, I did the commands on windows using my adb command and this is the result 666ef02a6d1edb0f812f2c3f132f6414.png
but there is no file created on the internal storage...
That looks like it worked. Look around the internal sd if not check the external sd. The file is definitely on your phone somewhere cuz the picture shows the transfer worked.

I can't do any custom recoveries or kernels without that file.

And thank you for trying when noone else would.

Looks like it's time to give up on this phone. Unless someone can run those commands on linux. Maybe Sammyz has the aboot, but he hasn't been around in a few days.

I have a couple things to do tonight but I'll attempt to pull it in a few hrs. I'll pm you later

Edit: Does anyone think I can use a Ubuntu disc and boot it inside Windows (without actually fully installing it) to complete this task?

Ubuntu lets you run it from disk without installing. So that should do the trick. If you pull it off, post back here. I check these threads often.

Good Luck, I'll keep checking back. ;)

Excellent, I am downloading it now. Does it matter what version? I went balls to the wall and downloaded 13.04, and I don't feel like digging out my burner and blank discs so do you think it will matter that I am mounting the Ubuntu .iso to do this? Starting to look like a LOT of emulation going on, I don't want to give you a messed up file and it end up bricking our phones, lol

Hmmm I'm not sure about all that. I use 12.04 as my daily system since it's completely stable and a long term release. Maybe the iso mount might work, but I can't say for sure.

Long story short, it wouldn't let me run Ubuntu inside Windows with the image mounted, but when I went to look for a blank DVD, I found an old 11.04 disc I made, so I'm going to just saying eff it and going to dual boot, lol. I like Ubuntu anyways, and it seems to play better with Android than Windows. Im also installing updates and stuff so the install might take a while. I'll post when I have obtain success :)

That sounds great. Everything is ready on my end, so as soon as I get that file I can compile the kernel.

This kernel will allow you to remove any app from the phone without bricking.

Once it's confirmed fully working then I'll build one with some other goodies like overclock, but one step at a time. lol

This is really pissing me off. When I use the disc and boot into Ubuntu, I tried to install next to Windows and when I click to start the install, it sits at the same screen for hours. When I "try" Ubuntu, I go into Terminal and after typing the first command it tells me there is no adb that I have to install it, but when I type the command to download it, it says it can't find it. On top of that, when I go into the developer options on my phone, the USB Debugging option is greyed out with the box already checked, but it doesn't tell me in the notification menu that its enabled. When I choose different charging options, the USB Debugging option un-greys for a split second and then goes back.

Short story long, I can't install Ubuntu and USB Debugging seems to not want to enable. Any ideas? On either front? o_O

Welp at least you tried. Lets just put all this aside for now and wait till Sammyz gets around and cross our fingers that he might have the aboot for this phone.

I already finished the kernel so I'll save it till that aboot becomes available. The only reason I need that file is so I can apply the loki patch. I'll drop by in the afternoon to see if anything has change on this end.

OK so now that I have what I need I would like whoever is gonna test to prepare....

1. Make sure to do a backup in recovery now
2. Make sure that you know how to get into recovery with the button combo
3. Make sure you're not squeamish lol

I've done this before and haven't bricked anyone, but I'd still rather play it safe.

Anyways, be back soon. ;)

I have it downloaded but can't seem to get into recovery other than rebooting from the app. Whats the correct procedure?
I was about to give up since noone tested yet. Glad you responded.

You can get into recovery from the app and flash this if you like to do it that way.

For the button combo, just shut off the phone, then.....
---hold power and volume up
---as soon as logo appears, let go of power and toggle volume up and down continuously till you get into recovery, then flash zip.
