Help Carrier unlocked - stuck OTA

Hi,

I just bought a HTC One and I was notified about a 1.47MB v5.0 update that contains "bug fix to let you install the latest system upgrade successfully."

However when I click install the updater is stuck on:

"Downloading (1/1)
Application: Software updates
Download in progress
0% 0.0MB/1.46MB"

The phone was unable to update from the start (first thing I did after unboxing was to check for updates). I've tried to restart the phone, and I have checked if I have internet connection.

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? It sucks to be stuck on 4.1.2 when 4.2.2 has already been rolled out and been available for a while in my area :(

Does the phone still work, even though the update download is stuck?

Have you contacted HTC or TELENOR regarding the update?

Thanks. Everything is functioning as it should, it's just the silly updating that is stuck at 0%. I haven't contacted anyone yet, but my carrier has nothing to do with my phone because I bought it unlocked.

reset to factory if you have not done so. I also ASSume you are not rooted.

you can also try wifi instead of cellular if available.

if that does not work, take the device back to the shop of purchase. the phone is too new to have these issues.

I've reseted everything that is possible to reset, and you assumed correctly: my phone is not rooted.

I tried both wifi and cellular and nothing seems to download the system update. I guess I should also mention that I can not connect to HTC servers, idk if that might be a part of the issue. I do have internet connectivity on my phone though, and DLing/installing apps went really smooth.

EDIT: I'll return the phone on monday then, thanks for the replies :)

Purchased an unlocked HTC One from HTC when I was in the US last week. Now here in Vietnam and getting a system update 1.29.1540.17 available message. When I click to tell it to d/l there is a quick downloading icon and then the phone sits with a red triangle & ! symbol on the screen. After a bit it reboots but soon after tells me the same update is available.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
