Sorry, just getting into the spirit of things.

I can't believe there aren't 1000 people milling around in here, talking about this friggin' phone. I'm begining to worry about my mental state, when I'm sitting on the couch in the evening, trying to figure out which apps, which widgets, which screen thingy things, and I don't even have the phone yet. I certainly hope that once I have it, it won't consume my life nearly as much as the anticipation phase has...

I know the feeling. When I was at BB yesterday, the rep told me that they only had 5 people pre-order and I was the only one signed up for the early release on Friday (since they didn't know about the early release until I informed them about it).
I have also been spending a lot of time researching the Hero and have started planning out my scenes etc.
Between this and Fantasy Football, I've been spending quite a bit of computer time for the past couple of weeks.
After getting the phone on Friday, I'm sure I'll be completely worthless this whole weekend

I used to flash the ROM on my WinMo phone 5-10 times a week, I was always tweaking everything on it. Lately it's been once every 3 weeks just because I've been busy with work and family. I look forward to getting more into App Development mode rather than System tweaking mode with this phone as well.

By now, most BB Mobile reps should know about this, but if not, ask them to look around in the system.

The BB I preordered from was aware of it. I was told I would need the coupon by one guy, and the one that did all the work just said to check back Friday and he would see what he could do. This time Friday, I will either be pouting around, or posting from my new Hero.

This is pretty much exactly how I feel. I usually tend not to get all worked up about new releases. Im actually excited about this one, as silly as it is.

Ask your salesperson "NICELY" to look in their "toolbox" on the computer. There is a printable coupon in there that they can staple to your paperwork on Friday. Remember, be very patient, and very nice. Best Buy really screwed the pooch on this one. Not enough advance notice, hardly any training, and now, 100,000,000 crazed phone idiots are screaming at them because they want their phones NOW!!!!!

If you've read my other posts you'll see that I also had to inform the BB reps of the early release. After speaking with them on the phone and in person to no avail, I did two things...
1) I called 888Best Buy to get "official" confirmation from Best Buy of the early release.
2) I printed out the coupon that americonium posted.

I then returned again to the store to try again. They still didn't know anything about the early release. I mentioned the conversation with 888 Best Buy and showed them the coupon. Between the two, these got them to at least look online for any information and eventually the rep found the information regarding the early release.

My suggestion...
Print the coupon, and try again. If they're still in the dark, direct them to the Employee website for the information.
