Root [AT&T] RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_Cingular_US_1.26.502.15_Radio_4A.1 7.3250.20_10.40.1150.04_release_326691_signed_2

I got bold and flashed the GE radio. Didn't notice a difference.
Might flash this one later to see if there is some AT&T specific tweak but I doubt it.
Based on the model number the GE radio is newer and this shows that AT&T is behind.. as expected.

The GE is Android 4.3 and the radio was no better than the international ones.
This 3250.20 radio along with the RIL files is the fastest my phone has ever been. a marked 5Mbps improvement at home and top speedtest scores of 40Mbps... I had never topped 22Mbps before this update.

I will have to give it a go... but I already pull down > 60 down in most of the city.
There may be a lot that disagree with me but there is no reason you need to download stuff that fast on a phone.
The AT&T network here is already stupidly fast even before tinkering :D

What I am really wondering is if they did any work on the radios to improve stability or handoffs since I already have all the speed I could ever want.
Not having any issues in that department but those are always good improvements.
60 down... yeah im good with that.... :D
I will just get to my 10 gig allotment faster. :D

id be happy with some stability. on t mobile,LTE seems to have confused things in dayton. i travel 200+ miles a day at work,and frequently drop calls when switching towers. 3g/4g/LTE handoffs seem ok when traveling within the refarmed area.

i actually had really fantastic luck with the AT&T ruu on my international m7,maybe it would perk up the t mobile version as well :eek: :D

I also haven't understood what wizardry HTC has done by loading up 2 chunks of aluminum and using them as antennas but we all know it works exceptionally well.

The radio swapping between AT&T/dev/international and T-Mobile is still one of those unanswered questions I have....

sure,it will work fine. the physical radios in m7_ul are all the same,and the bits that enable/disable what bands are able to be used for what(example HSPA on the 1700 band in non-refarmed t mobile areas) are located deeper within the phone than what the RUU can change.

basically,the phone will get all the bands that the carrier intended it to,until its really figured out how to change it.

examples:
-running att ruu on t mobile device wont break t mo lte or disable 1700 HSPA
-running t mo ruu on att device will not enable HSPA on 1700
-running international ruu on either doesnt change that devices LTE or other bands

personally,unless the radio swap is backed up with speed tests or other real data as above,i tend to not believe any performance claims. i think that more often than not radio swapping has a placebo affect on the user,with little to no real world changes. you also need to swap the ril,as clsa pointed out,and i always go a step further and swap out all firmware. if i want to change radios,i use the hboot,sbl1,2,3,rcdata,etc., that match it. swapping out only the radios on the rezound casued some really flakey/unstable data so i dont do it.

my best advice is "if it aint broke dont fix it" :p so if your happy with your phones performance,leave it alone. a firmware swap can brick an s off device unrecoverably in the event of a bad flash,and mismatched firmware can casue anything from failed OTAs,to an unrecoverable brick if a stock recovery tries to apply an OTA :eek:

todays phones are complex enuff that swapping things around just doesnt have the same affects it used to. so swapping your radio for international,dev,or other, may give better performance,but could have the opposite affect if not done correctly.

yes you should still be on hboot 1.44.0000 it should work fine
(whoops sorry I edited your post and corrected my mistake)

its not quite as black and white as the hboot version. the t mobile update to 1.27.531.11 includes the 1.44 hboot,but updates some other part of the firmware that patches the revone exploit. not sure if there are recent updates to att that have the same results.

apparently,its as simple for you att kids as changing the main version,then running the older ruu. happened across this:

this command is lowring the main version:
echo 1.00.000.0 | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p19 bs=1 skip=160

after that you can follow the directions,or prolly just let the utility run. the result should be s-offable 1.26.502.12 :)
