Root Is this the new one

I am also right there. I was wondering what the best rom is too. I have been following that other thread but I was also wondering if there was somewhere else that has more of a description, possibly with screen shots, of the roms that would be great. Not trying to hijack the thread or anything just in the same boat. Thanks guys.

You could do a little searching on XDA forums. That's where most roms seem to get released first, though I don't think many (if any) have screenshots. Keep an eye on this sub-forum, much of the time roms will get posted here, some with screenshots. They're usually indicated with "[ROM]" in the title.
Here are a few examples:
http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-eris/57431-rom-sense-able-2-0-updated-4-3-10-a.html
http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-eris/61616-rom-thecookierom-v0-34-a.html
http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-eris/59989-rom-vanilladroid-v1-0-a.html

As far as "best" roms....I think that tends to be a matter of opinion, which usually becomes the users preference in themes/color. I probably wouldnt use the worlds best running rom if I thought it looked stupid as hell on my phone :D.
Try them all. See which ones suit you best.

I just want a good running 2.1 rom and the google nav and the app market to work.im new to all this so once I figure out this rooting stuff then ill start making my shat look perdy.just a good runnin rom .

If you want just a simple, good running, 2.1 rom without themes that still looks about the same as 1.5 with most of the same features (+2.1 stuff), give Eris_official_0.8 a try. You can read the details about it (and other roms) in the "ROM'S" section of this thread (post #4).

I think a few of the roms that are out now are built on the base of ivans official_eris roms.

Yea Ivan's is based on the latestleak, but with Su app and optimizations for a faster Rom, and senseable 2.0 is the exact same thing but with a theme over it.
