Help Need Case For Galaxy S4 With Charger Back

Hi Guys:

I have added the Wireless Charging Cover to the back of my Galaxy S4, that I bought from the Samsung Site. The model number is: EP-CI950IBUSTA and it replaces the back of this phone.

After changing out the back with this new back. It makes the phone slightly thicker. Not allowing the standard hard cases to fit. I have a otterbox defender case which no longer fits and I also have the ballistic hard case and it no longer works either.

Have anyone used this charging back on there phone and have found a case that will fit and protect their phone, or know of any cases that will support a thicker back?

Thank you very much.

You might want to try something like this instead. It's a wireless charging receiver. Many exist for the GS4.

You simply put it on top of your battery, then attach the regular standard case to the back and you have wireless charging .. All cases will fit if the receiver is thin enough. The one I linked to is super thin ..

Thanks Don S: That looks pretty cool. I wish I would have seen this before buying the Samsung version.
Thank you very much.

I have one of these, with the QI Koolpad and it isn't fantastic to be honest.

Once fitted there is a VERY SLIGHT bulge, even after "modifying" the receiver (for NFC capability) Samsung Galaxy S4 Thin Qi wireless charging + NFC works with fix anyone can do. - YouTube

The battery takes quite a while to charge on it and the phone gets pretty warm too.

Can't say that the Official Samsung kit will be any better? But I would certainly hope so! :)

Thanks. I did want to ask though, you have THIS receiver, or one "like it"?

They are not all the same thickness. Some fit nicely, some do not. The one I linked to seems to work with all cases...

FWIW, I have been using the Diztronic for a couple of days now and it has done pretty well.

Amazon.com: Diztronic Matte Back Black Flexible TPU Case for Samsung Galaxy S4 - Retail Packaging: Cell Phones & Accessories

It fits the phone with the OEM Samsung charging back fine. It also charges with on issues.

I don't think it is the world's most protective case, and it is a tad slippery to hold (not bad though, but not as good as the Seido surface I was using). But, overall, I think it is the way to go if you want to use the samsung back and need a case.

Yeah

That's the receiver I have. (As shown in the picture)

You have to take the front and back stickers off for NFC to work and make it thinner

As an FYI, the one I linked to works very well without taking any stickers off. Actually I even ADDED scotch tap to tape it to the standard back cover so that I can easily change batteries without having to worry aobut lining up the contact every time.

With the standard back on, it fits in even the tightest of cases (I have 4 of them, they all work fine). I'm not sure why your experience would be different. Again, different receivers have different thicknesses, but you said you had this exact one, odd ..

If you put in a thin enough wireless receiver, all the cases should work. This one works great for me ..
