How to copy and paste WPA encryptio key to droid to use wifi?

Hello, finally decided to give my droid wifi a try and I'm trying to figure out just how to copy and paste my 63 key WPA encryption key to input it so I can join my home network. I emailed myself the code and tried but no dice. I have googled this issue and so far, the answers I have found didnt work for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

what happened when you tried to c+p it from the email? you need to hold the shift key(the up arrows) when selecting text in a email.

Hello, when I press the two up arrow keys, a very small dark spot does appear on one of the key letters. Just haven't quite figured out how to expand it. I know I am overlooking something, just not sure what it is.

Well I managed to copy it to clipboard. I hold menu down and then press V but it wont paste.

Update: managed to get it to work. Unfortunately it keeps saying "unable to connect" Thanks for taking the time to help.

Try manually typing it in.

This may help. I use this all the time to help remember some of the great shortcuts that are included in android.

Do you have a MAC filter set in your home router? If so, you have to remember to input your Droid's MAC address in the filter list.

No, I dont have any MAC filtering on my network. Just the 63 character WPA2 key. Gotta say, I am very frustrated that I finally got copy/paste working correctly just to have it keep telling me it can't connect to the network. I guess I'll have to take the advice of another poster and just add the key manually sometime later. I made sure I copy n pasted the entire key so I dont understand what could be wrong? Very frustrating!! Anyhow thanks to again to everyone who took the time to respond.

This is just a thought but maybe when you copy pasted it you selected more then just the 63 key code. I know copy pasting is somewhat tricky and it's easy to select more then what you wanted to. If you can try checking the box to show the password so you can make sure your not getting any extra spaces or characters.

Another tip - with WPA2, my Droid will not connect if SSID broadcasting is blocked on the router.

Well after entering it manually, I was finally able to connect "whew" CRPercodani, you may have been right about the possibility of copying more then just the 63 key code. in my case though, it might have actually been less because I noticed there was space for a few more entires in the box. the several times that I checked. A frustrating experience to say the least. Thanks for hangin in and giving more suggestions. I actually get a really good 3G signal in my home so I really didnt have a desperate need for wifi. I just wanted to make sure it actually worked because I had never used it on the droid up till now. Also wanted to compare speeds.

Spaces are valid wpa key characters.
