Help Strange white bleed...?

Hi guys. I've been having an issue with some of my lighter black/grey screens, particularly menu type screens. For instance task manager or the chrome blank screen. There seems to be a white bleeding effect coming up about an inch from the bottom of the screens. It doesn't matter the app either. If its not that true inky type black, it will occur. It's driving me nuts! Anyone else have this? Also notice very slight vertical lining... I attached some pix, but i had to shrink them down. Don't know how good the quality will be. Also, step into a dark room and u will get a clearer image.
Thanks guys

Anyone check this out yet? I'm debating bringing the phone back, although its been about 2 months and ive rootedthe damn thing. Any help would be great.
Ive searched the forum, but ive only found these issues with other phones or tablets... All lcd not amoled

I do see it, but when I tested screen colors using *#0*# , all the colors are very consistent.
So that's not a screen color bleed, but simply a gradient background.

Thank you so much for responding SebaKL! So u actually tested MY pics? Cool. Ive also done some color testing and as u said, they all seem consistent. Some over saturation, but that's expected with amoled.
So what exactly is gradient? Should it concern me? Will it get worse?
As i said, it only appears on certain black screens.
Im glad u did see it tho

Nothing to worry about. Gradient is just a design style, two colors of different tone, blending into each other in liner or circular manner. Example; from dark gray to black.
The Chrome browser background, unlike other apps, doesn't use solid color. It uses very dark gray, transition into almost black. So it appears lighter at the bottom. From the design perspective, it adds a little depth, so it doesn't looks so flat.

It's easy to demonstrate that, just keep rotating the phone and you will see how the lighter part keep re-positioning itself as you rotate the device. If it was screen problem, it should always maintain the bleed in the exact manner.

If your screen had actual problem, you should be able to see the inconsistency, being brighter at the bottom and darker toward the top when you tested the 3 colors using *#0*#.

Amoled it's very energy efficient. If there is a black color, the pixels are turned off. For any lighter color, it will illuminate just that pixel. But, this has one downside. If the screen is solid black with white text, it produce ghost color while scrolling. As it forced the next neighboring pixels to turn on rapidly and display the fine outline of text. To see that, you can open notification bar, and try to swipe away any notification. Just swipe it quickly back and forth (not entirely off the screen). You should see smear and perhaps purple color ghost following the text. To combat that, all the app designer needs to do, is set the screen to 99% black. So every pixel is turn on, just with very low intensity, but that's sufficient prevent visible ghosting from happening.
Some developers, will use color gradient backgrounds, some just very dark gray, that looks almost black. Chrome just happened to go with gradient :)

I might not explain that too well, my English comprehension sucks, so if there is something you don't understand, let me know, I will try to rephrase it.

cheers and have a good day :)

p.s. Did you notice that problem you mention above, in any other app?

SebaKL, youve explained the situation perfectly my friend. I understood you without issue. Thank you very much :)

To respond, ive actually tried rotating the screen as u mentioned but the "bleed" or gradient, is always in that SAME exact spot... So for example, if i rotate the screen left, the white patch will stay right across the bottom(or right side at this point) along the buttons... So... Im not sure now. Basically, it doesn't move.
Also, yes, i do get it on other screens. Any type of screen that doesn't seem to be TRUE black, even 3rd party apps, i see it.
Any other color is fine.
Such a strange thing to me.
Do amoled screens have a backlight? I ask this because if i turn my brightness to about 40%, i dont see it... Any higher or lower and its there..

Sorry for the shity quality, but I used ipad 2 to record this video. It might be hard to notice but pay attention to the corners of the display.

As I rotate the phone, the background readjust with slight delay, revealing black screen color underneath the gradient background.
Look at the area around home button.

As for the illumination. No, there is no back light. The pixels are illuminated individual one by one. And as I said above, the gradient is often used to eliminated the bleed and ghosting while scrolling white text, and to add depths.

Did you try to make a graphic on computer, that is 100% black and view it in gallery ?
It shouldn't display as gradient.

Thanks for taking the time to explain, I wasn't having the issue, but your response is very informative.
As far as your English is concerned- you've mastered the English language much better than many of our own natural born students.
