Calling a phone number inside a contacts notes

I'm placing this question here as I think it is a Sense issue, rather then an Incredibile issue. My problem is that under many contacts on my phone, in the notes section, I have further numbers and names. For instance, I have a contact called Boy Scouts. In the notes, I have a few names and numbers for some of the fathers. These guys are not people I call very often, and just having them all lumped under this one contact has always worked.

On the blackberry, I was able to use the scroll ball, and the OS would detect phone numbers and allow me to call them. But on Android/Sense, it just sees the data in the field sections as text.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can call a number listed in the notes section of a contact?

HTC/Samsung had to remove it because Apple sued them for "touch-clickable" smart links, like what you describe. They have a patent. The only way to do such a thing now is to use a third party app that can detect numbers and use them as smart links. I don't know of any contact app that can do that. Although I think some note apps can, like Google Keep I think.

I have numbers for my sister's kids schools/babysitter all listed under 1 contact. I wanted the same thing you do, multiple numbers listed just in case I needed them. Here's what I did:
Created a contact, in my case it's KIDS. For the 1st, or main, number (and subsequent numbers) I selected "custom" from the drop down and put 'school 1'.
Tapped "add another", added a phone number, selected "custom", used 'school 2'.
Repeated, added 'babysitter' in the "custom" field.
So I have one contact with four numbers, each has it's own name because of the "custom" field. I'm not sure how many numbers you can add this way, but it's at least 4.
I've done this for a few other contacts as well, it works great! If you need more info you can still use the notes section but this way all your numbers are there with a name and are dial-able.

On my Nexus 4 I can simply copy & paste the number into the dialer. Not ideal, but there you go ..

Don't understand how Apple got that patent: I'm sure I used to be able to click on numbers in things like emails on my old Nokias .. Sorry! Forgot! It's Apple - the US patent office will grant them patents on anything ..

If I remember correctly, Apple patented the Smart Links on touch screen devices. So Nokia and BBC which used arrow keys/track pads don't count.

The work around would be for third party apps to be able to do this, since they aren't covered by the patent due to some legal technicalities mumbo jumbo I don't understand.

This would work better than a third party app though. You can make an entry like 'Soccer Player Dads'. Then you can have a number labeled Mr Smith, then another as Mr Taylor, Mr Price, or whatever. You can have Lots of numbers there. My contact named Spammer (so I only add all other blocked contacts to it) has around 15 numbers in it.
