Unless I can get a conformation that it's in the 2-3 day stage and not the waiting stage I'm just canceling. I've been in the telecom business too long to see a disaster in the making. It's going to take more time for the phones to port numbers and ship than that window would allow.

They arn't porting the numbers though is the thing. If they had to do that for every phone that was shipping then yes it would take more time. However your current phone (assuming you have one) will work right up until you activate your Incredible. You have to call up, agree to the ToS etc etc, input the number your activating it on and all that jazz and then it switches over. If anything I would be more worried about how slammed their lines will be all day the 29th with everyone trying to get their phone activated.

That's actually a very, very good point that I hadn't thought of. But, as I'm seeing it when I've been talking with friends and such is that most people don't even know about the Incredible other than my more tech savvy friends. I don't think this will be like an iPhone release or anything. They definitely haven't done much advertising. So, I guess we'll just have to wait till the 29th and see how crazy it will be.

It's not a question of if you get your phone its a question of when you get your phone. If you are switching to Verizon and you do not have a tracking number by the 27th then your phone will arrive after the 29th. If you have Verizon and you do not have a tracking number by the 28th your phone will arrive after the 29th. I'm just not going to risk getting my phone long after I could have gotten one just by going to the store.

According to the Cust. Service Rep I talked to today if you pre-ordered your phone before 4pm on the 27th then your phone WILL arrive on the 29th...she further explained that if you ordered the by 3pm overnight shipping that the phone will arrive sometime before 3pm however if you didn't order that tupe of shipping then your phone will arrive at some point on the 29th...

Does anyone know that if you preorder the phone and it doesn't arrive that you can go and pick it up at a VZW store???
