How can I be sure of my pre order...?

According to what I got from the CSR who helped me with my order, there is no tracking number until they ship the phone... nor will there be a charge on your account until that time (sometime in October).

However, you should have received a pre-order e-mail with your confirmation number on it. If you didn't, then definitely call Verizon and ask them to re-send it. And check your junk mail folder ;)

Thanks, Chief. Found that email, checked the status and I'm good. At that time, I got a notice to have a live chat, so I took advantage. He confirmed my order, said exactly what you said as far as checking the order via that email AND confirmed my original expected date.

I'm happy to report after placing my pre-order via phone with AT&T earlier today I received an email confirmation within minutes. That was followed fifteen minutes later with another stating my order has processed and will ship Oct 1st.

Prior to calling I attempted to order online but a problem just before check out prevented that. Upon calling AT&T they confirmed they're having problems with the site. Then they did something that reminded me why I remain a loyal happy customer, they issued a substantial cash credit against my next month's bill. It was also a reminder that approaching them with kindness understanding and respect pays off.

Wow! I'm up to two new Android phones in less than one week. :)

Let this be a lesson on life. As I tell both my first grade students AND college students, you will get far in life by using your manners and treating others how you would like to be treated. Sounds so simple, right? Yet not enough of us actually do it.

It's very true, treating others with respect not only makes them feel appreciated, it leaves me feeling good too. Life is short and uncertain, being kind is everything.

If I pre order will I get it before or at the same time as the Verizon store

Pre-orders are filled on a first come first served basis. It's an industry practice. Samsung prohibits product deliveries to consumers ahead of availability on launch day. Therefore the stores will have them on launch day, while concurrently shipments will be released. When you receive yours depends on the number of orders ahead of you, and Verizon's inventory.

Best case yours will arrive the same day your local Verizon store has them.
