damaged sd card

Don't get a 32GB card, though. Still doesn't play nice.

Get a smaller capacity, higher class card. If you root your phone, you run apps2SD, and you will see the benefits.

If you won't be rooting or are not rooted, any cheapo will do.

Is this the SD that came with the phone? The 8GB one? It may be covered under warranty. Take it to the store.

Excellent point Smacky. They cover everything else that comes with the phone. The SD card should be too.

This happened me today. Did you ny any chance update lockbot? My card notified it was damaged shortly after updating. Reformatted and it says 7.40gb capacity. Is that right? It's the stock 8gb card.

I may be misunderstanding you but in case you did not know, storage media never have the amount of space available as advertised. It says "8 GB" but with some necessary files needed for operation, yes, it may be 7.4 or somewhere around there that you can actually use. It is not wrong in saying less than what it says on the cover/box.

The 16GB card that is in my phone as I type this "went bad" on me a while back. I got it with a rather substantial employee discount, so I just threw it in "the pile" (as my wife calls it) for a few days.

Then I got curious, plugged it in again, and it's been working fine for several weeks. As much as common sense and all my expensive training state otherwise, sometimes they just need a break...
