The wait. . . The wait is killing me!

Haven't posted since Gnex thread, but just wanted to tell Han thanks for the laugh and trip down memory lane! If I remember correctly, you got pretty famous for a post like this about once every week or two on Gnex thread. If it's any consolation, wife has been wearing me out about being obsessed with phone info too! Hello to all & happy hunting!

You ninja'd me, lol.

Having taken part in the Gnex saga, there were a number of posts from Han like this one.

We will sadly wait out your hiatus until you post once again.

Good luck ignoring the anticipation. You are a stronger man than I.

Lol - I feel his pain. But although it, too, is killing me, I'm actually happy about the wait. The reason being that I'm still on the fence about whether to go Note 2 or Note 3. So I'm reading everything new post like a voracious carnivore to glean every little detail about your new Note 3's. That way, when the Verizon Note 3's do arrive, I'll only have to actually go down and compare and contrast the two models physically!

Ship date for Note 3 is BY 10/10, Han. What with everyone else shipping next week, I have some hope for an earlier delivery. Some, but not a lot.

And I can't even pre-order the Note 10.1! Amazon offers the 16 GB white, and the 32 GB in black and in white... but NOT the 16 GB black! I am trying that avenue to save money, plus I have Prime so that's free 2-day shipping.

Anyone have better luck?

Just checked again this morning. I no longer have hopes before 10/10.

I was hoping to space out the Note 3 and Note 10.1, but pre-ordering both, I will get them on the same day.

My wife will not like me being an obsessed boy with his new toys for a few days.

Lol

Might wanna spring for a "Girls Night Out" for your better half & her friends to keep the peace/tranquility in the GALAXY...... ;)

This is the same Verizon that has released every major phone at least a month after everyone else. 1 week is pretty good by their standards.

Gotta give Verizon props w/ the Note 3 & only making us wait 1 week after everybody else & the fact that they were one of the first major carriers to start pre-orders. Who knows, maybe when they release the Galaxy S5 they will be the first to do pre-orders & be the first to release it <<<<<<< anybody want to hold their breath on that one :p

WTH.... I copied that straight from the pre-order status page haha....guess ATT didn't catch that either haha. Wow...

On their orders screen they have a standard algorithm that places your estimated shipment date a week after you order it. I have the same thing, I ordered on the 6th and it still says estimated shipment date 9/11-9/13. But because it's a pre-order it isn't accurate. Kinda sloppy actually given the size of AT&T, but frankly their whole site is pretty rough in terms of performance. The order page for a Note 3 said (and still says, last I checked) in bold red that it will ship on Oct 1.

Just called AT&T as I've been leaving them alone and simply waiting, albeit not the easiest thing to do. Here in the USA the pre-order page says shipping Oct 1st, if you've done business with any of these carriers you know they must rely on the manufacturer to get the phones out to them before they can ship to us.

My past experience has revealed that some manufacturers are rather accurate and some are not. Demand also plays a part as they do indeed have only so much capability to ship X number of units within a 24 hour period.

I'm not advocating or covering for any brand or carrier, just sharing my experience as someone who orders a bare minimum of two or three new phones per year, year after year.

Bottom line? I'm getting a date from AT&T USA of Oct 4th at this juncture. And as always subject to change.

Finally before you bash any carrier be mindful of the stone cold fact they want your money! Thus they have zero reason to delay. An often overlooked fact... that too many people on forums don't take into consideration, instead they'd rather unleash their anger with no thoughts about reality.

Well, I called Verizon CSR and talked with LouAnn in Albuquerque. I inquired about 3 things:

1. The VERIZON30 promo code... can it be retroactively applied to a preorder?
2. Free activation this weekend only... can I get a raincheck?
3. The Note 3 wireless charging S-View cover... will it be available?

Here's what I got from LouAnn:

1. Nope. I'd have to cancel my preorder and redo it to get the 30% discount. No way.
2. Nope. The free activation this weekend is only for NEW lines. Not existing ones.
3. Unsure. The one in the system appears to be the regular one, at $59!

She was also kind enough to check the status of the pre-order, and my estimated shipping date. As expected (but not desired), my Note 3 is scheduled to ARRIVE in my hands on exactly the 10th. Which means I cannot possibly expect it to ship any earlier than the 8th.

The only shiny lining in this cloud is that I'm only a day's shipping time from the Memphis distribution center: which means that with any luck, little traffic congestion, and an easterly wind to push the truck faster, I might get my Note 3 on the 9th. No sooner.

But that's still 10 days away. So I'm not going to stress anymore until October 8th :)
