The wait. . . The wait is killing me!

Well, I called Verizon CSR and talked with LouAnn in Albuquerque. I inquired about 3 things:

1. The VERIZON30 promo code... can it be retroactively applied to a preorder?
2. Free activation this weekend only... can I get a raincheck?
3. The Note 3 wireless charging S-View cover... will it be available?

Here's what I got from LouAnn:

1. Nope. I'd have to cancel my preorder and redo it to get the 30% discount. No way.
2. Nope. The free activation this weekend is only for NEW lines. Not existing ones.
3. Unsure. The one in the system appears to be the regular one, at $59! :eek:

She was also kind enough to check the status of the pre-order, and my estimated shipping date. As expected (but not desired), my Note 3 is scheduled to ARRIVE in my hands on exactly the 10th. Which means I cannot possibly expect it to ship any earlier than the 8th.

The only shiny lining in this cloud is that I'm only a day's shipping time from the Memphis distribution center: which means that with any luck, little traffic congestion, and an easterly wind to push the truck faster, I might get my Note 3 on the 9th. No sooner.

But that's still 10 days away. So I'm not going to stress anymore until October 8th :)

If it's any consolation, I had lunch with a friend who's a Verizon customer who's also got a Note 3 on pre-order. He called yesterday and got the same answers you did. Being the two largest carriers, it wouldn't surprise me if ours arrive within a day or two of one another.

Finally my fear is that mine will arrive in the condition my S4 did.

Looking new and well made
Easy to setup to my preferences
Trouble free in every way.

Wanting to get one but if I want the Note 3 and the gear watch I'm going to need to sell the new Nokia 1020 I got for ATT. Windows is just not the platform for me so I'm thinking of trying the Note 3 and see. Had hoped Best Buys was going to have them last Friday like the said before so I guess another week to wait

So at has them in the USA?

I don't know if they are available to buy. But when I got there, I saw the display space for it with a Note 3 label, but no phone. I asked about it, and the guy told me he was just about to put it on display but that I could hold and see it before he did. So I was able to hold it without it being tethered to the display, and it is light!

I didn't ask if it was for sale yet because I'm not on ATT.

Wait a minute!!!

I just got a call from Verizon fraud dept, asking me to confirm shipping address (I put down my work address because I don't trust my apartment complex office to actually hold the package for me or sign for it when it gets there).

I asked him when this was shipping out to me, and he said that it was shipping out momentarily and that I should be getting an email tomorrow!!

TMO US is it Wednesday yet???

Any word on your pre-order?

Just called regarding mine (T-MOBILE),wish I had got the CSR that originally took care of my order (Denise,BTW,a very cool & capable/well-informed CSR),this one seemed a bit confused,will try again tomorrow.

Anyway,the CSR that I spoke to today said that my credit card had already been charged (no sign of such,been ten days now).If that were the case,I'd say it's on the way,but,no other account activity on my credit card or T-MOBILE account indicates a phone has been shipped.

If the status quo remains this time tomorrow,I'll CNX my order & pick-up locally.

The Truth?

Really?

I rarely get excited since I live, breathe & work in the tech sector.

But this... Note 3 launch has captivated me unlike any other. My anticipation only strengthened by the incredibly great S4 experience I'm having.

These Galaxies put the iPhone 5S to shame.

It's a stunning experience, thanks to Google & Samsung :D

I also got Vuja De...lol I remember that epic GNex thread and contributing. My have we come a long ways from that cluster. I moved from Verizon to ATT as I could not stand Verizon's phone selection and updates anymore. ATT has been better than Verizon, I guess. I am looking forward to getting the GNote3 in a few days... device will be awesome.

EDIT: I am really hoping that it's the former and that we're all getting out N3's way, way early!!!! :D

Chief, you know I would never prank you guys about this.

Honestly that's what I was told. But everything still says the same thing on order page, no card charge yet.

I think that the fraud dept guy probably didn't even know what phone I ordered. I'm now thinking that he makes 1000 calls a day to confirm addresses when they're different from normal billing address, and it usually pops up for him to call.

I'm thinking 10/9 at the earliest.

I'm tempted to just cancel and go to the store myself, but then I think about the Verizon employees putting their grubby paws all over my phone and updating firmware/setting up Google account, not to mention the 1 hour for them to activate it while they throw it around on their table waiting for it to activate.

I'll just wait for delivery. . . . :eek:

Not to mention that moment when you actually open the box YOURSELF.

And just like the Verizon commercial (the one that my 7 year old daughter says, "look daddy, that's just like you") where the dude is opening his phone box and the heavens are shining out of it, that's what I want. Not some clown finger banging my brand new device.
