Sprint Galaxy Note 3 Release Date

Sounds like Sprint is going to release the Note 3 on Oct 2nd.

TS had posted the IBTimes article in the Sprint sub-forum last night. The main issue I have with believing the article 100% is the part that mentions a "sprint representative" as the source.

LOL...For anybody that has tried to get launch information in the past, the #1 caveat in looking for information is when the "source" is a Sprint representative. And it's not like they said "corporate" representative, so it could easily just be some random sales representative, who would not have anymore information than whatever is read online. To me, as of right now, it sounds like the representative gave a "calculated" guess, but doesn't really know the actual date.

That said, I had also mentioned in a couple threads that I went to the Samsung Experience area at my local Best Buy, just to see if they were given any indication of when Sprint would be offering. For those that don't know, the representatives at the Samsung Experience boutiques (in Best Buy stores) are actually Samsung employees, not Best Buy employees. When I spoke to the representative, he mentioned that they don't know a specific date for Sprint, but did go on to say that Sprint will likely release around the same time as all the other carriers, which was encouraging enough to know that Sprint won't be delaying the release until the end of the month (which is really what I was anticipating/expecting).

Nonetheless, I'm taking the IBTimes article with a grain of salt and just waiting for a formal announcement. I'll be bringing my phone in either this weekend or next weekend to get my trade-in value from Best Buy for my Note 2 and be ready for the upgrade, whenever Sprint formally offers through Best Buy.

Do you guys think sprint is holding out on the release date information because they really need to push the iphone first? I'm just curious as to why all the other carriers have given release dates except sprint....

Yes. Considering the success of the Note 2 last year, I think they're keeping hush about the Note 3 release, with the assumption that it will do just as well as it did last year. Their big push of the Note 2 didn't really start until the Lebron promotions, in conjunction with their sponsorship with the NBA, as well as "The Voice" promotions, in conjunction with their sponsorship for that show.

I wouldn't be surprised if their first announcement

Season premiere of "The Voice" is on Monday, so look for them to either be doing some promotions of the iPhones or the Note 3 starting then:

Lol...so, I popped into a sprint store at the mall and one of the reps seems to think the Sprint version hasn't even cleared the fcc yet. Of course, I never believe floor reps for any reliable info, but I did find it interesting considering there are mixed reports out there saying that the Sprint version will be tri band and others saying it won't

Whoever said that is not in the loop. It cleared the FCC along time ago... I have sources telling me that an announcement from sprint will come on Monday and the phone will be released the week after the announcement.

Lol... Definitely not. Just a random floor rep who tried acting like he was. I'm planning on getting my trade in value from Best buy on Friday. I almost started laughing when he said it hadn't cleared the fact. Was model # confirmed the nm-900p?

I'm all set! Note 2 traded in at Best Buy. Got top value for it! Only thing I forgot to ask is what happens to the remainder of my Geek Squad Insurance that I paid for in advance. I guess I'll just drop by there again tomorrow to ask.

But I've got all the money I need set aside, so I'm practically at no money out of pocket (with exception to accessories I've purchased recently).

Now, it's a matter of making it through this week, not wanting to throw my Photon against the wall. After not having used the Photon in so long, the difference is glaringly there, especially with the battery life. Well, I can last 7-8 more days until I get the email notification from Best Buy.

I've been using the s2 for the last 2 years....and i've been wanting to throw it against the wall for the last year..... I'm sure you can manage for 7 days. :)

I dunno... Lol... At least you've got a bigger screen and didn't they update to ics on the s2? I am stuck on Gingerbread! I also forgot
how laggy the ui is, but i didn't want to load up holo (since nova isn't an option).

6 days and counting.

Tease. :p At least you'll be able to grab the phone on launch. Assuming best-case scenario, I'll have to wait until near the end of October before I'm able to purchase my Note 3 (though in all likelihood, since I'm wanting to buy a case and 1 or 2 other accessories to go with the device, I'll probably have to wait longer). I can't complain too much, though; the Photon Q isn't a slouch.

Most likely best buy should credit you for the rest if the geek squad then add in the new one when you get the device the computer will do it automatic. It should work that way at least

Stopped by Best Buy in the morning, yesterday, while doing errands and Geek squad did exactly as you said, credited me for the time remaining from the 2 years I purchased in advance.

I'm really happy because I'll be spending very little out of pocket money on this. Just wish Sprint wasn't charging $50 more than everyone else.

Anyone else find it odd that the phone is available from Sprint in a few days, and still not even so much of a hint of it on Sprint's website?

They do have a page for it, but I don't know how to get to it from their home page.
I found this by googling "sprint galaxy note 3".

Spoke to Best buy and AT&T here in California today and now both are saying October 4th release date. AT&T said possibly on the 3rd. Best buy had previously told me 10/2.

This is exactly what I heard the exception being AT&T specific, as you may have noticed I posted elsewhere that they are shipping very soon and will be able to fill all orders immediately.

Good find, thanks. :) I guess my problem is that I've been looking at Sprint's online store (what they like to call their "phone wall" ), and haven't seen it appear there yet.

I understand that pre-orders have caused issues in the past, but if Best Buy was able and willing to put something up the moment Sprint announced their official release date, then couldn't Sprint have at least made a "coming soon" placeholder (or linked back to the page you found) in their online store? :p
