I'm kinda newbie on the subject as I have my Hero for only 2 weeks and only rooted when HTC decided to postpone to July.

now I'm on Vanillain ... and after I installed it I started seeing a lot of stuff about Villain (which at the beginning I didnt noticed it was a different one)...

so the question:
was the difference?

thanks guys,

but I guess the one I want would be the vanillain... cause personally I prefer the nexus UI better than the sense UI...

but then it lies the questions on stability, speed, performance... I already noticed that vanilain is not the best on those terms

-----

well.. I just finished installing villain and it's bootin up now... let's see what happens

Xtiro,

I've installed that rom u pointed me...
I had some initial trouble setting up the mobile data network as it was not recognizing automatically.
1st I thought the radio thing, updated and nothing.
then I noticed the APN thing empty and the option to manually add one.. so there you go.. Google -> t-mobile uk apn .... add whatever I found on the resul and is the fastest ROM I tested and it uses a nexus style UI... sweet =)

Oh yeah, I didn't realise it was a missing APN at first either :p
