Help Camera click begone

Yes, it is due legislation rules.

I don't think that's EU legislation as it doesn't apply in the UK. I can't think of anything more absurd than having an electronic camera make a mechanical camera shutter sound unless it's for haptic reasons. And you've got plenty of evidence on screen for haptics.

I have those silly sounds turned off on all my cameras and no legislation has applied.

Camera clicks can spook some animals. Really stupid.

I'm actually surprised we can shut ours off here in the US. I could have sworn someone had passed some sort of anti-"up skirt" legislation a long time ago that required us to have a shutter sound. Yet, we can turn it off here.

We can? I am on Verizon and there is no option to turn off the shutter sound on mine under settings in the camera. Is it located somewhere else?

I don't see it either. If it's based off of System or Notification sounds, maybe a quick Tasker profile can be written. Mute the proper audio channel when in camera mode (good for video anyways!), and automatically unmute as soon as you leave the camera app? I can't imagine that'd be too difficult, though I don't think I'll have time to play with that for a few days.

I have my phone on silent at work so as not to annoy everyone else so when the sound is off it isn't an issue. When trying to sneak photos it could be an issue! LOL! I just don't understand why we don't have that choice.

I looked under Sound in the System Settings, I don't see anything there either.

Freaky.

We're going to have to split up the Note 3 forum into different sub-forums. The global and even the different US carrier devices are just not the same at all, both software and hardware wise, I thought it was just carrier bloatware that would be different and the Exonys/S800 processor thing.

I don't think so. The Note 2 went strong, without having separate sub-forums and there were way more differences between the carrier variants.

Sprint is also in the group that has no way of turning the shutter sound off. Privacy law that Sprint is actively participating in.
