TO THOSE OF YOU HAVING BATTERY PROBLEMS.

I am sooo happy to say that I may have found a solution to the problem. Last night I was searching for an explanation as to why some people were having tremendous battery life while others were having sub par battery life. I looked around the forum and could not find any detailed instructions on how to "possibly" fix this. I think I may have found the solution.

First of all, for the past 2 weeks since DL the original bh_man 1.6 no twiz I have averaged 12 hours of batt life with moderate usage and dim settings and running task killer constantly killing apps. I was satisfied with the rom but wanted more battery life.

So, with help from aequitas3 I decided to RE-FLASH the bh_man rom. Only this time I drained the battery, and once it died I continued to press the on button which began the opening animation several times and then died. I did this until it no longer began the behold animation completely drained. I then re-charged WHILE OFF until the battery said it was full. Once full I removed the battery for a few minutes before turning the phone into "dl mode". I plugged into usb and "re-flashed" the Bh_Man 1.6 no twiz through ODIN. Once complete, I turned the phone off again and removed the battery once more for a few minutes and then turned the phone on. Lo and behold (no pun intended =) the battery only read 65%!! After it just said it was 100%?? I immediately turned the phone OFF and charged the remainder until it read FULL.

I unplugged the charger and turned the phone on.

I am happy to say that as of right now I have 9 hours of up time so far with 72% battery life remaining!!! Normally I would have about 30-25% battery left so this is a HUGE IMPROVEMENT! I do not know the technical reasons for all of this, all I know is that it worked and I sincerely hope that this will help others that have had battery issues. Just to clarify, I have run brightness on 11% and since reflashing and removing the battery my phone finally sleeps properly EVERY SINGLE TIME. The whole day my phone slept properly which is a first. I also kill all tasks including task killer before allowing the phone to time out and sleep. I would say the phone can easily last 24 hours now!

Thank you Bh_man for this amazing rom! I only use the original 1.6 no twiz, not the new one that has been recently removed. Also thank you aquateaus3 and RudoFF for all the help you guys have provided. I love sharing this great information with all my android friends = )

Hope it works for you guys!

p.s. I decided to try this route after realizing I did not have my bh2 fully charged during the first flash. After seeing the shift from 100% to 65% after re-flashing it was more evident that the calibration was thrown off. I also believe the battery removal before ODIN may have helped with the the phone's sleeping habits. I have not had one failed sleep test yet (eg. pressing menu, call, or d pad does not open lock screen). Also remember to back up your files before reflashing lol.

Lmao 24hrs ain't that great with only light use. I get 50-60hrs easily with light use and anywhere from 20-30 hrs with extremly heavy use. No task killer used, 60% brightness, 4 widgets with background data plus txt, calls, apps, and web. All I have done to it is too properly cycle my phone several times before I ever did a parcial charge.

How about letting us know what is different about your phone and filling us in with some advice lol....???

Search the forum many users get the same great battery life with the new roms. Some have bad life but not all mostly those that don't read directions and properly care for their batteries. Just make sure your phone is sleeping properly that's the biggest thing.

All I know is that my battery life has at least doubled from it's original state =) and it helped. I have searched around the forums and there was not a designated solution to the problem so I tried this and it worked.

My phone is only 2 1/2 weeks out of box and I have not mistreated the battery in any way so don't assume that it is not properly taken care of. Many people have complained about the battery and the difference between yours and others is by over 24 hours so I think it's worth investigating a solution. Still you have failed on any insight to a solution so thanks for bragging lol.

"Search the forum many users get the same great battery life with the new roms. Some have bad life but not all mostly those that don't read directions and properly care for their batteries"

ummm the purpose of this thread is to help others who may not have the time to spend hours digging through the forum looking for a possible solution??

PS wish I would have screen shot your previous post before you edited douche lol

Well I'm sorry you feel like that but I don't really need to give you insight that has already been posted over and over. My battery is fine and always has been. Properly cycling your battery is key. I guess I know how to use my electronics and I guess some don't. My battery is not double everyone, really learn to read! All the 1.6 roms are producing this battery life for me and many besides me.

wow... lol this thread has really gotten carried away... just chill out guys, both of you just want to help the BH2 community and we don't need to have all this bickering and cursing on this thread...

The battery improvement procedure is interesting and yes its been posted before, but seriously this just makes it easier for those who haven't been on this form long enough to find the things they need.

where are all these other batter fix posts? i've not seen anything more detailed than to fully charge it before you odin, let it drain all the way, then charge to full (while the phone is off)...where are all the other posts?

btw, (though this may sound stupid, i'm going to ask anyway) for those who would like to adb push files (or make other edits that require the connection of the usb cord) immediately after ODIN installing a new ROM, is it better for them to wait until the battery has drained before attempting to make such edits? Or is it ok to leave the phone plugged in via usb after the ODIN install, make the edits, then drain the battery?

I found out the hard way that, YES, wait till it fully dies before plugging it in any USB cable. This will throw the calibration process. I'm on my third re-calibration. :D

You can search a specific thread & display any posts that have the search terms.

that's very true and here's one more novel idea...use the forums search feature and search for "battery fix" or "battery problems" or hell just "battery" and limit the search to the samsung behold 2 boards. its funny how no one wants to search, but it is easy and works.

Well i did search and took me pages of text to figure it out. Here is a novel idea.. If a thread does not hold any information for you then just stay the off it! Lol if a topic that obviously has no substance for you, but it may for others so why don't you just worry about issues that you can actually relate to.

Back to work. : )
