Thread Subscriptions

I know you guys are having some server issues (well, I've noticed and have heard) and I think one thing to help out is to turn off automatic subscriptions. I signed up recently, and any thread I post in I automatically get subscribed to and get emails for every post. That's incredibly taxing on the server, and something that I don't think is necessary (also, I hate thread subscriptions so I had to turn it off manually anyway).

Just a suggestion that I think would help.

Android Forums is now on the new server and undergone two server enhancements thus far. Speeds have definitely increased. I really don't think that changing the default subscription setting to off would really help the cause all that much. I have my default set to "No email subscription," a notification to my User CP is enough.

Nope, all my previous subscriptions have gone. Settings still set as previous defaults. This topic is on email notification, as are/were important/recent threads.

I now have a new sub list, but have to seek out threads of interest I was following.

Alright, I think I understand what you're talking about and this should do the trick. Go to User CP > Edit Options (in the left pain) > Head to the second box down, Messaging and Notification > In the second option down, Default Thread Subscription Mode, click the drop down box and select Instant Email Notification > Scroll to the bottom and click Save Changes.
This will fix the subscription for future threads you reply to.
For threads that you are already subscribed to, go to User CP > in the first box, New Subscribed Threads, click View all Subscribed Threads > select all of the threads that you want to receive email notification for by clicking their respective check box > scroll down to the bottom and click the drop down menu > Select Instant Email Notification > Press Go
All set :D
....Hope all of that makes sense
