Help Swype for Devour

I have the Droid eris and I downloaded it for my phone. My sister just got the Devour, so I'm trying to help her figure it out and if possible, download all the cool apps I have on my Eris... Like Swype!

BEST KEYBOARD EVER!!!!!

I too have it on my Eris, but my brother just got a Devour, and after seeing it on my mine he wants it. So I told him I would ask around on here. I have heard it is available, but can't find it anywhere. So any HELP?

wow that is pretty cool, id like to try it. ive noticed that some apps ive heard of are not in the marketplace for the devour.. is this because its running android 1.6? i noticed i couldnt get google goggles either lol.

Here are instructions i found for installing Swype:

I have not tried it yet, so try it at your own risk. I wont get my hands on my sisters phone until maybe Sunday.
But this is pretty much the same process I followed for installing it on my Eris. It was also not on the Market, but it works great on my phone.

Please update if you try it.

What's the point? Of course it looks really cool..but i can text waaaay faster on a qwerty then any one could ever do this swype deal...

I type way faster with swype. I cant type on the devour default qwerty worth a shit. Im decent at the iphone Keyboard, but the screen is larger and the keyboard is better.

I've gotten REALLY fast on Swype.

I've definitely seen it...I still don't see the point, so one person is really fast it? I'm sorry I just like to be able to walk/sit around and text without looking at my phone, seems alot easier then having to concentrate on what I'm swyping my finger over while texting.

edit: I took out my old LG enV touch and typed that commercial out about 6 secs slower then he did the first try, sorry I don't have the money samsung does to fly in the guinness book people.

I am using the free ShapeWriter Keyboard app. Same idea as Sype. I signed up to be notified when Sype is open again, but until then, ShapeWriter is great.

If you know where the keys are without looking normally, swype would be the same thing. You just don't have to lift your finger up. Plus, you can always type normally with swype.

We have devours, which have a physical keyboard so why would I want to type regularly on a touch screen...or swype on the touch screen haha.

Actually it goes by resolution. You need the one for the Eris. They have the same resolution.
