turn off notifications

I have turned off notifications on almost all of my apps and somehow some of them keep getting turned back on somehow, even when I haven't run the app.

How can I turn off these notifications permanently? I don't like receiving these notifications especially after I turn them off time and time again.

Settings, Application Mgr, each app has a check box for notifications in there.

I do that already. However the next day some of those apps somehow have the notification box checked again even though in some cases I hadn't even used the app.

1. Nook
2. Pandora
3. Paypal
4. Stocks
5. Tinycam Monitor FREE

The only app I have used since I last rebooted is the Nook app (for Barnes and Noble). Usually if I let it go longer, there are several more apps that all of a sudden turn their notification on.

Galaxy S3: It seems all the apps I moved to the SD card have notifications back on after rebooting.
