Battery Life

That's exactly the point, it takes multiple clicks when I'm used to using one.

For example
Turning Wifi/On off on S3/S4
- Drag notification panel down
- Press Wifi Icon
- Can also toggle Data/GPS/Silent/NFC/Brightness etc. all from same menu without leaving

Turning Wifi on/off on N5
- Drag notification bar down
- Click wifi icon
- Drag wifi slider across on next screen
- have now left the menu so have to drag down from top and start again to change brightness and all other settings.

Significantly less intuitive.

>>> CORRECTION - have just long pressed the buttons, and that does toggle them. The lack of brightness slider remains annoying

The Brightness slider is there. Just hit it once. Granted, if you're coming from TouchWiz I can see the conflict, but each device does their own convenient thing uniquely. Once you get out of the mindset of comparing it with the last, you start to appreciate what it has to offer.

Could there possibly be drastic differences in battery usage depending on which carrier the phone is on? I'm just speculation

Interesting comment. When I was "monitoring" the G2 threads around the web people with G2's on AT&T were reporting mediocre battery life compared to other carriers. It seems the problem was some of AT&T's services draining the battery.

I am not looking go good on battery life. If anyone has suggestions that would be great.

I dimmed the screen and turned off Google now to see if that helps. Also turned off location services. I'm in a great signal area and on wifi, so data is turned off as well. We'll see. I'll report back later. It's hard to determine how long the screen is on because I use it in bursts.

You should hopefully see dramatic improvement. It's been shown that Google now is a notorious battery hog due to using the gps so much. I got my stats yesterday with everything turned on, though almost exclusively on wifi.

I was getting the same. today seems to be on par with my HTC one but we will see. One thing I did was a wipe and installed everything from scratch I also got rid of lux lite I don't think it was helping. Also remember a lot of apps are not updated for 4.4 yet so you could get some storage battery drain. I will post by battery findings along with my settings at the end if the day.

I feel like this is much less than my HTC One. I kind of feel that apps not being optimized for 4.4 might have something to do with it.

HHmmmmm.....see my comment #55 above. People with a G2 on AT&T were overall reporting less than satisfactory battery life. People on other carriers seemed to be delighted with battery life on their G2.

Given the similarities between the two phones, I wonder if there is a difference in battery life experiences using this phone on AT&T versus other carriers?

Weird I wonder what At&t would be doing to cause battery drain. I did just notice that the weather channel app had gone to the top of my usage on the battery stats. I turned of the location setting in the app, so I hope this will help some too. Who knows.

I'm just throwing this out here one last time because I see people are turning off location settings all together

Instead of turning it off, try turning it to "battery saving", it uses triangulation and wifi networks primarily. I like it, my battery is doing well:

today, 7 hours 20 mins off the charger, a little over 1 hour screen on, battery at 80%

This is an interesting hypothesis, because my GF and I are on T-Mobile and getting great battery life. But my brother who is on Straight Talk AT&T is getting mediocer battery life at best. I can't think of why this would be other than coicidence.
