Video Problem and format issue

It's happened to me before as well... not to that extent -- more like a few second skip, but still, extremely frustrating. It's happened with another cellphone and my Sanyo HD camcorder a few times as well, so this unfortunately isn't something that only happens with the Droid. May even be SD card related... I never found a sure solution. Also, I believe that all of my high quality recordings are MP4... not sure about the 3gp -- maybe the low setting? Sorry not very informative. Need more coffee. I'll revist this thread later if I can find more info that may help.

I was videoing my daughers 4.0 ceremony this morning and it skipped where she spoke for 30 secs and it got everything before and after which pisses me off.
Sorry to hear that. What settings do you have as default for your video? The other issue may be the write speed to your SD card, although the card that came with the Droid is a pretty decent one.

Second why is it in 3gp format. Is this normal?
Yes, 3gp is normal for a smartphone. Since I don't make too many videos with my phone, when I do and I want an mp4 file, I usually upload my video to my YouTube account and then download from YouTube to my PC in the appropriate format. It's as easy as any other third party software and it's free. ;)
