Root [MetroPCS] 4.3 update?

will metro pcs s4 get the 4.3 update the same time as tmobile s4???

Just to let you know glo1234567 it was brought to the attention of the staff that there was a thread that already existed within this specific forum that contained information regarding the question you were asking.

Therefore, these threads were merged together into one.

Hopefully this is okay with you. I have set an expiring redirect from your old thread to this one in case you cannot find your old thread. I will also be sending you a PM notifying you of this change.

Hope this satisfies everyone :). If not feel free to send me a PM!

From what I've read It seems that the 4.3 update has many bugs (reported by S4 International and Verizon S4 users that got the update first) and as a result the OTA has been officially delayed by ATT for its S4. Also, the day Tmobile was supposed to release it (the 18th) came and went with no update. Theres no word as to when they'll release it, sorry to say but if the bug reports are correct, it may be a while before we see it.

These are the articles I read. Sorry to bring bad news guys....

I think that Metro is "in charge" of the cdma updates and Tmo handles the gsm updates. I have no proof of this of course...did the Metro gsm s3 get an update too?

If Metro is an official carrier with their own type of S4, which I have come to understand as true, then yes they will be in charge of bringing the updates to their devices.

Yes, but Tmo and Metro are now technically the same company since the acquisition. Metro released the OTA for the old CDMA S3 (the S3 on their network) but have yet to release the OTA for the new Metro GSM S3 they sell (which is on Tmobile's network). Im thinking, as I said, that the OTA's for Metro's GSM phones will come from Tmobile and not MetroPCS. Edit: I'm just guessing here folks...

I don't think you need to guess for that one, that should be a fact. If, which I didn't know about haha, Metro is now under TMo's umbrella then all the OTA updates will come from them, if you want to know you could always send TMo's Customer service an email requesting for an update :p

I got a download error. Anyways remember what Shabby wrote in another thread:

"you wont be able to use odin to flash back to 4.2 if you do the 4.3 update, samsung has started blocking downgrading via odin. so unless you guys make a odin tar per newer firmware if you mess something up you wont be able to odin back to safety. :/"

Hey guys I was popping in this forum and saw my name mentioned about merging some threads, so I worked some magic and ta-da! The threads regarding 4.3 are now together in one thread :).

Hopefully this makes everyone happy, if not feel free to send me a PM.

Otherwise the other 4.3 thread will have an expiring redirect for 3 days for anyone who is confused regarding the merge.

Thanks again! :)

Im sure the guys at the Tmo threads will be making a rom from this update soon...If you really, really want to try 4.3, I posted a link to a Touchwiz rom a few posts back that will satisfy you for the time being. Its made from an early leak of the Tmobile 4.3 firmware. Ive been running it for close to a week. The 4.3 update looks and feels exactly like 4.2...there's really not much difference IMO.
