I was just wondering if anybody knows of a mobile image hosting website that will allow me to upload wh image from my HTC hero and then host it and give me the picture link once uploaded?

I've tried one or two but they say 'upload disabled' when I've tried, so I just wondered if anyone here had succesfully used one.

Many thanks

Morning :D

You can upload images directly to Flickr or Picasa.

I personally use Picasa. All you need to do is visit the website, sign-in using the same Gmail account that is aligned to your Hero for easier transfer/configuration, agree to the Terms/Conditions and you're good to go!?!

Then go to your Albums folder on the Hero, scroll across to the photo you want to upload and press the "Share" button (the icon is a circle with two arrows come from it). Select Picasa and it'll upload to the site.

You can then grab links to the image(s) either by visiting the website on you computer or visiting the site on your Hero :D

Flickr is really good. My favourite. If you already have a yahoo account you can log in to flickr with that. You'll just need to approve your phone as a device but the phone takes you through that when you set it up. You can also view photos in your flickr account from your phones album app. There is a flickr tab at the bottom.

Picasa might be the easiest. Your phone should be logged in with google anyway and picasa is part of google so they'll be joined. Picasa is at the bottom of your list of share options. Go to picasaweb.google.com to view your pictures.
The one problem I have with picasa is I've not spotted a way of being able to view your photos from your phone other then the browser. Not like flickr or facebook albums which can be seen from your phones album app.

There is always facebook. Again you'll need to approve your phone but that gets done automatically on your first upload. As mentioned above and similar to flickr, view photos from your album app.

After that many sites that you already registered with should allow email uploads, you can always email yourself the pictures.

And thats just the options that are preinstalled on the phone.

To access any of these services just click on the cirlce and arrows button when viewing any picture, as mentioned above.

You would think with Android being so Google centric we'd have better access to Picasa a Google service not Flikr and Yahoo service.

:D haha Agreed.
Picasa absence from the albums app is quite strange isn't it.
Personally I'm pleased it's that way round though as flickr is my main image hosting provider...phew.
