So I got the phone today. IT'S AWESOME. however, i've set up my gmail and school email accounts, seemingly without a hitch. I started getting emails right away. Then... i go to respond to the emails, through either account, and my email sending keeps failing! I sent it, then get a message a minute later saying they couldn't be sent. Any ideas why?? Thanks!

ok so when i verified the settings, the outgoing server settings could not be verified. says 'cannot connect to the mail server to verify your account information. your server is not responding. but it DOES verify incoming server settings. do the ports need to be the same for both?

Can you change the smtp server? It sounds like you have the wrong SMTP server information and thus cannot send outgoing mail. You'll have to look up your e-mail accounts SMTP seetings

it depends on the server...
as far as google goes:
Configure your client to match the settings below:
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server - requires SSL: pop.gmail.com
Use SSL: Yes
Port: 995
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS or SSL: smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
Use Authentication: Yes
Port for TLS/STARTTLS: 587
Port for SSL: 465
Account Name: your full email address (including @gmail.com or @your_domain.com)
Email Address: your email address (username@gmail.com or username@your_domain.com)
Password: your Gmail password

can't speak about your school.

I know IMAP can use different ports. I think default is 63 but my server uses 64.

Outgoing server for you is:
exsmtp.systems.wvu.edu
use TLS if you get the option.

it keeps saying my server is not responding :( this is frustrating.

i tried exsmtp.systems.wvu.edu which tells me it cannot connect to the mail server to verify info

then i tried exsmtp.wvu.edu and it says authentification failed. please verify username/password which are both correct. AHH

Don't get frustrated, you'll get it. Take a look at this page see if it helps.
