Has anyone done a stress test with the Incredible yet? This is my first touch-screen so I'm scared that I will drop it and crack it. Will the incredible survive a drop from 3-4 feet onto cement? Has anyone dropped it yet?

Lets says the screen does crack, how hard is it to install a replacement, is it even possible?

Assuming the incredible is made to the same standards as the nexus one, there is a short video of the testing process that the nexus one goes through. Just to give you a general idea if you are worried about the screen.

It's real easy to install if you carry the insurance on your handset. ;)

I think the big problem with the Incredible is if you drop it and it lands even on it's back, putting all the force to one spot (the camera lens) which will result in a shattered screen. At least that's what it looks like from the pictures around here.
I've dropped mine twice from about 4feet and haven't had any damage but I have a Verizon Silicon Case which gives it a little protection but mostly makes it so the camera lens isn't sticking out

Wow, when I hold my phone or handle it I am aware of what I am doing and think to myself that it would be a shame to break a $530 phone because I can't take the time to handle it correctly and not carelessly. I have never gotten insurance nor put a case or screen protector on and have not had one problem. Some of you must have alot of stains on your shirts.

I've got to say I agree. I mean accidents happen, but wtf!? I keep reading about people taking the phone into a pool, dropping it all over the place, cracking the screen, etc... I'm not a nazi about my phone, but none of the phones I've owned have ended up in the toilet or under a car tire.

Just be careful, and remember you've got a little computer in the palm of your hand.;)

So with this theory do you not own car insurance either?

You can be as careful as you want, but accidents happen. Its nice to know that if it ever does happen you're covered.
