About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first created based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean because of curiosity. In the early days, it was just a one man show on one device (EVO 3D). However, many others have joined the project since and it has grown a lot. We have seen a wide variety of talent contribute to this project of ours and many of our contributors have gone on to help other projects, and that is ultimately why we do what we do.

Once Jelly Bean was over, we decided in Kitkat to move to a new base, which was OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting because it challenged us to see what we could with something different.

With Lollipop, we have moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. With that said, it has been an awesome learning experience and it's still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward.

Few more things we will say is that we don't accept nor ask for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc.....

All we do ask is that you search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

ROM looks nice, using multirom to test this. Gonna play around with halo. Led light comes on (when charging) even when led notifications is set to "off.” That bug sort of tricked me into thinking that it was gonna stay on till the phone dies.

Charging and Notifications have two separate LED settings, fyi. Settings > Display > Notifications/Battery.

Bummer, download failed. :( I'll try on the pc tomorrow.

PM'd you a temp mirror.

Sorry I haven't left any feedback. I flashed last night but didn't really have time to get set up so I restored my backup.

I had no issues upon initial flash. No led issues or anything. Hopefully I'll be able to flash and get all set up this weekend and drive it for awhile.

Has anyone had an opportunity to flash yet? Just curious what are your opinions on the UX and/or any bug reports.

I flashed the day you put it up and no problems at all. Everything works - camera, calls, data, gps(must have as im playing a lot of ingress). Installation went smooth and battery life seemed much better than stock and got better with Franco's r23 kernel. Only question would be will the "Dark" toggle be made to invert apps like Hangouts along with the usual suspects? That was the one thing I felt was missing. Other than that, excellent work and thank you!

It is something we've been talking about for some time now, but nothing concrete has been established yet. Getting the ROM(s) to 100% is our main priority.

However, you should be able to use a full dark mode if you used a gapps package a la SlimKat ROM and the like.

I'll give this a shot this week-end, which will give you a ROM-noob's-eye view. ;)

I'll take whatever feedback I can get. It will help us understand what the users need/want while making this as stable as can be.

Installed Multi-ROM and then dirty unicorns. At first I installed it to share the kernel (Franco) and it kept rebooting (it was sort of funny, I could leave it to go do something and it would be back in Cataclysm when I got back). So I deleted and reinstalled and it seems fine. I'll test Franco with it in a bit and seeif it is Franco or simply the sharing that was causing problems.

Dirty Unicorns looks very nice. I'm going to start out just playing with the tweaks and then slowly start adding stuff to it while I continue to use Cataclysm as my daily driver. I will let you know my impressions and observations as I go.

Just got flashed and setup on the latest this evening. Good so far.

Already have a couple of feature requests, unless I missed them...

Customizable quick toggles and ability to assign long press actions to the nav bar buttons. I like long press back button to kill particularly.

Digging having halo again, and with ninja mode it's even better.

Also, so glad to have quiet hours back. It does something for me that I couldn't accomplish with tasker.

Anyway, I'll report more as I keep using it, just giving you some initial feedback.

Did you choose a different stock font on this rom?

Yeah, we're using Roboto Light as the default font for DU. As for customizable toggles, I got it functional a few days ago, but wanted to make sure that all toggles are operational first. Not fond on releasing non-stable stuff. In any event, keep your eyes pasted to XDA in the next few days as we might have a public surprise for all :)

What is the difference between aokp and dirty unicorns? Can't decide which to add to multirom. Confused :)

Made by two different dev teams. Both are based off of AOSP, but we (DU) have our own tweaks and such applied the way we like them. The only thing I can suggest is trying out both and seeing which you like better.

I would like to give this a try. I do have a question though.

I am currently running Xposed with Gravity Box and Ultimate Dynamic Navbar.

Can I install this over everything or should I do a complete start over?

Thanks for all your efforts :)

If you are running a rom other than DU then you will have to factory reset and wipe data etc. If you are using the beta DU you can probably dirty flash this on tip if it.

Lightning fast and a pleasure to drive. Only hiccup I've noticed was when using the Dark toggle. After the UI restarts, I have no signal. I quick on/off with Airplane Mode restores signal. Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Yeah, it says you have no signal, but you actually do. When Google modified how System UI restarts itself, it's caused a little bit of an issue when switching themes, but we're looking into it.

I would not recommend using whatever setup you had previously. For starters, those setups are typically used on stock builds, which this is not. A majority of the customizations you would use with those mods are already included in the ROM. Like someone stated previously, you'll need to do a full wipe to flash DU if you aren't already on DU.
