With the upcoming release of 'Dropbox for Android' I can see referral links being posted all over the forum.

As such please post your referrals here and keep them out of other Dropbox related threads.

That's a good idea; there's a lot of temptation to post something that's only nominally useful as an excuse to include one's referral link, resulting in a whole lot of blather. Although I hope the post I wrote yesterday was more than that, I've edited out the link and I'll include it here instead: https://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTUzMjk2MzM5

To my mind, though, SugarSync is even better. It does both what Drop Box does, providing a special folder that gets synced up on multiple machines, if you like, plus allowing you to specify ANY other directories to keep backed up. See my note on their referral program below, however.

Take care.

May 4th Update: SugarSync has just released version 3.0 of their Android program. It's got an improved user interface, numerous new features, and judging from an hour or so of use, it's much more stable. Wow! My original rating in the market was **, but I'll certainly give this 4 stars, and 5 if it remains stable. I'm very impressed.

Peace and love.

May 22nd Update: Dropbox has released an Android app as well, which you can find here:http://market.android.com/search?q=pname:com.dropbox.android . In the meantime, I've spent a lot of time exploring the cloud storage programs available. Hands down, Dropbox has the most generous referral program; you can get up to 8 GB of storage for free (and I'd be grateful if you helped me boost mine: https://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTUzMjk2MzM5). SugarSync is another such service, and they just emended the terms of their referral program for the better. Up until a day or two ago, all your bounus space would disappear on Jan. 1, 2011. There erupted a hue and cry, however, and they listened. Now, any bonus space you earn is yours to keep. I compliment the company for listening. If you'd like to check them out, you can use this referral link: https://www.sugarsync.com/referral?rf=dxkjtxd0mj323 . I like SugarSync better than Dropbox, in fact, since it lets you decide which folders you want to synchronize. Finally, there's Syncplicity, and they're well worth checking out. While they don't have an Android app yet, they do have a mobile web site. Their referral program is also unusual; they offer 1 GB for each new referral, up to 3 GB: https://my.syncplicity.com/Signup/UserSignup.aspx?plan=free&token=LZT6YPIB . This tops out at 5 GB.
